Arson would have been much easier than a bulldozer.

True, but doing it with a Bulldozer makes a statement, not to mention it looks a lot more reckless and down right "Cool" in a dysfunctional kind of way. Fire would have been too easy.

Holahan said the driver was also firing from the vehicle with a 50-calibre weapon. He said several propane tanks were hit with bullets, but didn't explode.

I wonder how in the fuck a .50 Cal didn't make those tanks explode. I could see a .22 pinging off of it, but a .50? That bullet would've tore right into them and the freckin' things would've gone KABOOM! *My guess is the tanks were empty.

I do commend him for making a statement for trying to stand up for himself however I feel he put too much work into it. The bulldozer was a first though.

I just think he could have tried other means.. because it seems like he tried to hard to inflict damage upon the town and ended up dying in the process.

Arson, Electrocution, Assassination, Water Poisoning, Unleash a Disease in the town LOL, Gun everydown down, Cyanide, Anthrax, Unleash Wild Bears.

I mean he shouldve just stole a SWAT VAN LOL :tickled: :tickled: Or atleast put armor on a Bus or a Funky Golf Cart... or a Shuttle... or something fun.

Well, when you have a town of 1500 people, you're going to run into more than a couple of inbred psychos.

He was far from crazy. And the town was against him because of the rezoning of nearby property, thus affecting his property. As a result, he became the low man on the totem pole...or even was kicked of it entirely, if you will. The town was against him because they made money from doing so. Don't think he was crazy, eccentric yes, but crazy no. He didn't go after people themselves. He targeted there homes(and only the garages)and business's n' such so that he wouldn't harm anyone. He wanted to cause the same amount of damage to the people that had destroyed his business and livelihood. :oh_no: And i can't think of a more creative and less-deadly way to incure damage than adding 1 in. thick armor plating to a Large Cat Dozer and taking out the neighbors stuctures. He knew there was no turning back also, and thus ended his own life...but at least he went out w/ a bang (no pun intended).

PREACH IT MAN, PREACH IT! ---Yeah, the man was killed, but this fly geezer had more resolve for the wrongs done onto him than most of the youth in this nation. How quickly the media loves to spin it... make someone into a "Psycho" or something else when they miss the point that it was The Principle of the matter that was at stake. ---Notice they didn't focus on how he didn't target people, he went after buildings! It's like how I see WWII vets down at the VFW Legion posts sometime and they are serious when they say: Fuckin' punk kids today ain't got no sand. Whattaya' say Bill you up for goin' to the desert! Give me my M-1 Garand or my Springfeild, I'll go so these lame fucks can stay here and burn the flag or draft dodge. Same difference, the old man's methods might be considered "Not Acceptable" by the collective majority's way of looking at things and write him off as a crazy old man, but that old man was wounded by those people who didn't give two shits about him, and his resolve was FELT, however short it was. Personally I salute the geezer. :smirk:

Anyone ever see that early 80's film with Tommy Lee Jones called "The Park Is Mine" where keeping a promise to a Vietnam Buddy he takes over NYC's Central Park? ---The people there should be glad he didn't go all out like that and decided upon a Caterpillar BullDozer instead. *And Shiro, the dude did win in having his resolve FELT, he just didn't live is all. There's something to be said in having the determination to break right through to the other side of something when it's the "Principle of the matter" indeed. Maybe orgainzations and self interests groups and people in general should think twice about how they treat ppl and then act all surprised when someone takes to the war path. People are human beings with feelings and rights, and just because some Zoning mother fuckers want to play high and mighty with someone they regarded as a peon... well now they gotta' rebuild what the intitally started.

My only sympathies are with the dude's family assuming he left anyone behind... that town though can suck a dick. They should learn from it. Reminds me of that film with Denzel Washington called John Q. ---When a person is pushed to far, the individual will often push back, in this case he didn't target people, he targeted the very places they dwell in and operate from to further ass fuck someone out of their own rights just because of a money issue, or someone wanting to build a highway or some shit. Thus I'd say. DEAD GEEZER = 99 Points -1 ... TOWN = Millions of dollars in repair bills. Would've been easier just to leave the old foggey alone wouldn't it?
