Fire Pro D.....sucks.

It's true, one of the worst wrestling franchises ever devised, next to the Nitro/Thunder Series.

i have this game. the only other fire pro game i've played is fire pro S for the saturn, and fire pro D for the dreamcast is everything that game is and so much more. if you end up getting it, make sure to download an FAQ because it's pretty heavy with the japanese.

Fire Pro has been slated since its PC Engine/SFC days, if you like it you like it.

Fire Pro D is probably the greatest in the series (granted i havnt played every single one)......great insight.

I have it for sale mint if your interested, comes with a nice wrestling card.

fire pro d is the best 2-D wrestling game EVER MADE. it has insane reply value, the create a wrestler mode you can basically remake any wrestler on the planet, check the fan sites, people have made shit like the X-Men etc. and you can download them all, get the official sega 4X VMS for this game..... also the create a ring logo mode is awesome, and 4 player tag team is really great.

Actually, the first Fire pro was actually made for the NES, and then the Game Boy before the PC Engine days.

The first Fire Pro game was for the PC Engine released in June of 1989
The second title was also a PC Engine game which came around in 91, followed by a SFC game in winter of that year.
The following year PC Engine and SFC each got a new game in the series.
The series stayed on the SFC for the next 3 titles.
(Thats not counting update titles like SFPWX:Premium and Joshi games such as Queen's Special)
In 1996 Fire Pro Iron Slam came to PSX with 6 Man Scramble hitting the Saturn later that same year.
Fire Pro G on PSX came in 1999
Fire Pro D in 2001
Fire Pro X in 2003
(Not to mention the GBA titles in 2001 & 2002)

Source: Spike's Official History of Fire Pro Dictionary

Everytime Sega and Human/Spike came together they made magic.
All the games following a sega release, such as FPG and FPX, always felt like downgraded versions of the previous title.
The greatest game over all in the whole series is probably Fire Pro D.
I ran a pretty pouplar Fire Pro D website for the better part of 2001/2002 and put more hours into that game then I care to even fathom.

Human made the first Fire Pro game for the Famicom in 1987-88, it did not have the Fire Pro name, but it played like SFP1.

Human THEN made Pro Wrestling for the Game Boy, also having the Fire Pro gameplay style.

Those 2 were the first 2 Fire Pro games made, even though they did not have the FP name.

Fully Agree!!! The timing system may take a bit to get used to, but once you do, you can loody the hell out of people with bats covered in barbed wire and triple team people in royal rumbles! IMO, it's the best 2d wrestling game ever made by far!!!

Giant Gram 2000 is the best 3d wrestling game :) imo

giant gram 2000 (aka All Japan ProWrestling 3) rocks, but i prefer touken retsuden 4, also on DC. pick up giant gram: All Japan ProWrestling 2 if u want all the DC wrestlers.

giant gram is REAL wrestling though, touken retsuden 4 (aka New Japan ProWrestling 4) is WWF style.

Is the Gameboy game you speak of H.A.L. Pro Wrestling?
I had that game and it actually fustrated me to the point where I ended up breaking my Gameboy while playing it.

What is the NES game they did? The only title I can think of that Human released for NES was a puzzle type game called Egypt.

Anyone here into King of Colosseum??? (Import PS2)
3D game made by the same people who did Fire Pro.
Has the most in depth grappling system in a wrestling game to date! So in depth just from the front grapple positions alone you can perform close to 40 different moves!
King of Colosseum II is due out later this summer.

No, the Game Boy game was called Simply "Pro Wrestling". It was an Import Game.

I do not know what the Famicom Human game's name was, as it was in Hiragana/Katakana/Kanji, and I couldn't translate it.

I'm pretty sure it was renamed H.A.L. Wrestling for the U.S. version.
Pro Wrestling for Gameboy also hit Japan in summer of 1990, so it would be the 3rd wrestling title by Human Entertainment, behind the NES title and the first actual game using the Fire Pro name for the PCE.

Sadly I do not have HAL Wrestling yet, so I have no way to confirm this yet...

yup it was called HAL wrestling in the US. It was released under HAl, hence the name, not sure how it compared to the original GB game though. I played it a long time ago at my freinds house. I should check at gamestop to see if they have a copy.

Dreamcast fire pro is great, recommended if you are a puro fan, some people love it others hate it. I think it is the best in the series personally, like the culmination of all the games. I got my copy back in 2001 from a store here in NJ, and havent stopped playing it since.

yup it was the game factory, haven't been there in a long time though. I am familiar with the store owner, don't remember anyone else who worked there. Used to go there a lot to play the neo mvs and to order games. I should drop in one of these days and say hi.

Thats pretty funny. Craig (store owner) only got in about 7 copies of FPD when it was released and like 5 of them were bought by friends of mine.
Quite a bit has changed there. They sell comic books now too, and host tournments for Magic, Yugio, and Hero/Mech Clicks. 1 new employee there and my friend Al who also works there only works on weekends now.

Here is my pic I have posted on the NEO·COMMUNITY photo page, you've probably seen me in there.
