"Plot Summary: Mugen is a fierce animal-like warrior with a unique break-dance inspired fighting style. Jin has a more traditional style but don’t think of this as a weakness because his skills are amazing. The two contrasting samurai warriors are far from friends, yet their separate paths seem to cross anyways. Mugen is wandering aimlessly through the city when he stumbles upon a teahouse where he meets Jin and Fuu (A ditzy waitress, but don‘t think she doesn‘t have any hidden skills of her own). Fuu convinces them both to come with her in search of a mysterious samurai that smells like sunflowers and their journey begins. This modernized hip-hop tale breaks the barriers of the common, historical, samurai anime."

Sounds odd, but it works.

English? Subtitled?

Fansubbed.

I'm downloading it right now. Now, I hadn't watched any of this yet, but as I've seen many people with Samurai Champloo avatars and signatures at other forums, I got the impression that there was already more than two episodes. Is this really that recent?

I could only find the one episode, I believe the RAW of ep 2 is now available, but noone has subtitled it yet.

Ep1, and 2 available. Seems interesting so far.
What the heck?... Either it's coincidence but the exact same thread appeared all of the sudden in rottentomatoes.com/forum?!?... :spock:

Anywayz, Cowboy Bebop was very succesful due part of Shinichiro Watanabe's great visual direction... His Animatrix works also had some really good visual flair... Thus, I'm sold with this anime.... It's just a drag downloading anime episodes... Oh, and I heard the hip-hop sucks...

Eh? I don't post on rottentomatoes so I wouldn't know. The hip hop intro is more like a poem than anything else, but I don't watch it for the music so... yeah.
