I read that article too. I would never fight for this country no matter how much I exploit it. Mexico 2005!

I am not fighting for a guy who has the head of a monkey.
I mean damn, give the lies and bullshit a fucking break already.

This is the result of pushing your religious beliefs on and entire nation.

It's pretty stupid to start up the Draft unless you plan on sticking around for A LONG time or going and starting more wars. As sad as it is that our soldiers are having to die over there, the casulties in Iraq are nothing compared to other wars. We don't have a need for more soldiers, and thus have no need for the Draft. According to that article it would be opening it up to even more people than the previous Draft (such as women). What need is there for such bullshit? None.

I'm past the age where this applies to me, but I had decided pretty early on to be a conscientious observer. I don't mind going over there, I don't mind helping my country. I just don't want to kill anybody. Find me a way of helping that doesn't involve killing folks.

On a semi-related note: I'm thinking for my next car, maybe hybrid or electric.

Too bad the most Bush supporters are so dumb they refuse to even read the newspaper, and thus will vote for him. It's very unlikely Kerry would instate a draft, or continue the warmongering.

This is one of the few times I'm going to actually agree with the future "Draft Dodgers" for the simple fact, that if our fighting men and women over there who are enlisted and Reservists aren't allowed to win... then fuck being "Drafted" and not allowed to win. ---Now if they are going to give us the proper training in how the enemy thinks, eat as they eat, sweat as they sweat, train to better utilize the microterrain, and are deployed with the enemy's weapons and allowed to totally decimate them off the face of the Earth... then I'd be jumping up and down to be drafted. If by some chance I got the call though, I'd still go... might as well put to good use the last 21 years of Warfare knowledge I have and take as many bastards with me as possible. I admit that overall though it is a bit retarded indeed. As long as we are going to just hold ground and abide by "Geneva" ROE, then a lot more people will be coming home in a body bag.

hows thats different than a objector ? youll just hang out and watch eveything ? youll even be awake , thats pretty cool .

Well before they have a draft they need to lower the standards , right now to get in you have to have the mind of brainac and body of superman , well not really but its not easy , you cant have have any sort or illness (major) past or present physical or mental never taken medication stronger than cough syrup allergy medicines and pass a mental aptitude test with such and such a score and then maintain a physical fitness standard and be under the age of 35 , if they do a draft everbody except mentally and handicapped people are elligible and a age limit im sure .

So first lower the standards and see who wanted to get in but couldnt in the past .

theres over 2 million people in the military only i dunno guessing 400k< have been in Afg/iraq so theres enough people to make many more tours .

Why the big deal ?
The way i see it being in the military is a part of your life like getting married having kids getting a job retiring ect. Somthing you gotta do .

The United States of America is one of the few countries in the world that doesnt have have a mandatory military term , most every other country once you get out of highschool or college you do 8 months to two years in the military . Ive met many soldiers in the Us army that ran away from there country because theyd rather be in the US military than the Chili or African China or Jamacian Iranian ect one .

So when i see people crying about a pretend draft thatll never happen , it makes me think our country is to sheltered .

er, I meant objector. But if they had an opening for an observer, I might take that. I'm pretty good at watching stuff. Maybe wear an orange vest so nobody shoots me by mistake. I could observe, and when the war was over, I could tell everyone what they did wrong.

The difference is that those are choices that one makes for
themselves, they're not forced to do any of that. Fact is, we
don't have to do anything, especially not die for that moron.
