Since the old thread is down on the second page, and had alot of BS on the first part, I decided to make a new City of Heroes thread for the board.

A few of us have already started making SNK characters in the game, but we need some more. So if your already playing CoH or are going to sometime in the future please consider making a Neo-Geo related character.

Were going to be on the Guaridan server. Here's the list of people playing.

Guardian
YuckMud (Doctrine Dark, Joe Higashi,Fio Germi)
OrochiSaffron (Heart Shock, Ryuji Yamazaki,Krauser)
jethrek (Beau Garrison, Mr Panda)
jaydubnb (Geese Howard, Soldier Blade)
Ein_boser_Schotte (Tartan Avenger)
Dash no Chris (Dash Bleu, Dash Jaune)

I have only gotten a chance to play with Saffron,Jay and Chris, so hopefully you other guys are still out there. Also I have decided to stick with Fio and I will let anybody use Joe, so I will hold onto the name till sombody else wants him, so PM me if you want to play as Joe.

Were going to make a SuperGroup for all of us to play together, it's going to be called "The Future is Now". Once one of us hits level 10 we'll make the SuperGroup and all you'll have to do is just ask to be in it, simple as that.

So that's about it, keep everything CoH related in this post and let the old one die. Now here's all the pictures we have of the Neo-Geo characters in action. Hope you enjoy them!

Geese will be hitting Level 7 with a few more bubs and I've been thinking about which power to give him at level 8. I'm most likely going with Resist Damage as it's a passive power and wont shut off if I'm nailed by a psionic or dazed. I'm planning on making Geese much more defensively inclined than any of my previous tanks (which were mostly glorified scrappers with higher HP, heh) although Energy Transfer is tempting as well. We'll see ;) . As a method of travel, I'm taking Super Jump.

Wow, those pics are pretty damn impressive.

You guys have done an awesome job of bringing those characters to life. Krauser looks 100% bad ass, Joe's hair is amazing, and Yamazaki looks like... well exactly like Yamazaki would look like in 3D.

Good stuff.

Those pics are RAD.
I may end up playing this after I move out next week. Got a bunch of friends at work who play, and they never shut up about it.

Still haven't decided if I'm going to stick with this game or not, but I'll toss in my characters to this thread:

Guardian -- Sylphiel (Level 3 Defender)
Freedom -- Psyclown (Level 6 Controller)

New patch alert!

http://www.cityofheroes.com/news/updates.html

06/03/04

Missions

* The Vahzilok disease issue has been fixed.

Task Forces

* All remaining issues with Task Force missions have been fixed.

Task Force Story Arcs are among the most interesting and challenging tasks in City of Heroes . We have adjusted the levels of these arcs so that they will spawn villains at the highest level possible to receive the mission. Positron's Story Arc will now always spawn 15th level villains, for example. The rewards will match the greater risk however. Continuing the Positron example, if your group wants a challenge, they may try the Story Arc starting at 10th level. You will receive rewards as if you were a 15th level character. Here are the levels we consider appropriate for each Task Force:

o Positron: 15
o Synapse: 20
o Sister Psyche: 25
o Bastion: 30
o Manticore: 35
o Numina: 40

Good luck with the Task Force Story Arcs and remember...if a signature hero is asking for your help, the task will likely have a high degree of difficulty.

Balance

* Increased the difficulty of fighting villains that are much higher level than you. Fighting villains within you range +/- 0 to 2 levels have not changed; Fighting villains +/- 3 to 4 levels changed somewhat; Fighting villains +/- 5 levels changed significantly. This was done to have the risk represent the reward, especially at the higher character levels.

* Raised the Max cap of most attributes at lower levels. This will prevent you from reaching a cap at early levels with Enhancements.

* Fixed a bug where players were dead and managed to travel through a door got double XP debt. This could happen when they click on an exit (usually in an attempt to flee) and are defeated by a villain immediately before the transfer takes place.

Powers

* Auto Turret: Decreased number of bullets in a burst from Auto Turret and increased the damage of each bullet in the burst. Auto Turret was firing too fast, and the system chat messages and overhead numbers could not keep up with its fire rate. This gave the impression that it wasn't doing much damage. The reduced number of bullets will allow you to see its true damage. Actual damage was not changed (except for the overall change to Pets Range Damage).

* Fixed Katana Whirling Sword not reducing targets defense.

* Reduced End Cost of Claws/Shockwave.

* Slightly Reduced Recharge Time of Hasten.

* Slightly Reduced Recharge Time of Accelerate Metabolism.

* Telekinesis is now an AoE: Ranged (Targeted AoE), Foe Hold, Repel - "Lifts a foe, and any foes, off the ground and repels them. The targets are helpless, unable to take action, and will continue to hover away, picking up any passing targets, as long as you keep this power active. Keeping up this level of concentration costs a lot of Endurance."

* Increased Energy Manipulation/Conserve Power Duration.

* Fixed Battle Axe/Swoop Short Help fixed Battle Axe Damage type (it was doing Smashing damage instead of Lethal damage).

* Removed Dimension Shift from Singularity.

* Increased damage of Fire Blast/Flares (it was about 40% too low for its recharge time). Reduced END cost of Fire Blast/Fire Blast power.

* Updated Short Help of Caltrops.

Terry doesn't come out good. Same with Goenitz. There's so much you can't do with the character creator. I wanted to give Fio her jacket, but I had to stick with just a white T-Shirt. But still the character creator is great. I spent alot of time making all sorts of different characters, I just wish you could mix and match a little bit more.

Clark and Ralph were VERY easy to make, only problem is both names are taken, also Choi was taken. Even with Ralph and Choi's last name's they still came up as being used, but I took pictures of them anyway.

As with almost all MMORPGS there is the basic fee involved. But I think CoH is the only one that accually gives you somthing. Every month you get a CoH comic book, and I think the only way you can get it is if your a member of the game. I got mine on Tuesday and it's pretty cool. They have a whole spot at the end of the comic with some of the best player made characters, I heard that they may even include them into the comic.

Hey Jethrek, sorry about bailing on the CoT mission but I got Teh Boot once again and decided to call it a night. We had a good run, man and that K' looks awesome when ignited :)

Oh, was our partner a friend of yours or just someone you picked up for a team? Cool dude, regardless.

A friend of mine. I'm convincing her to make Hotaru or Yuri.

That would be my fault that Ralf Jones is taken. ^_^; Made him more like his Ikari Warriors self, except with the bandana and the bandolier. I'll have OrochiSaffron put up the pic of him later on.

Kumagai Toshiro made a pretty good Ralph, I just need to get the screens up. As I said on the other thread, my Alice isnt the greatest, but I stick by her. Also, I am glad I got so much praise for both my Krauser and my Yamazaki. Damn I rock.

Was tinkering with the female options (as I have no female heroines in the game) and thought of....BAM!

bluemary.jpg

I didnt make her for in game use as I have enough melee types, but it was nice to know that she could be done :)

Use shorter hair and the "Loose Pants" option instead of tucked and you can make a better Mary. You may even be able to find a detail that is similar to her own.

The character generator allows you to select the height (from 4'0" to 7'0", IIRC) and build (from "athletic" to "muscular") of your character, using 2 slider controllers. Unfortunately, the head-to-body size ratio doesn't change, so instead of a "natural-looking" 4'0" person (with a slightly larger head in proportion to their body), you end up with the same proportions as every other character in the game -- the result being a character that looks like a 6'0" super-athlete hit with a shrinking ray and stuck at 2/3 their original height.

Also, the Choi in the photo above may be built as a 4'0" character, but unless he stands next to a 6'0" character (for the sense of scale his proportions can't provide) you might not be able to tell. I was thinking that the "Cool Choi" striker from KOF'00 would probably work quite well in COH, tho'.

You can't really tell from the picture, but Choi was as short as I could make him. I should have had him standing next to another person so you could tell the difference, but he looked REALLY good, just sucks another person is using him.

I'm getting REALLY pissed off with the ammount of dissconnects I've been getting in the game. I used to get the "Lost connection to Map Server" and it would freeze up and then put me back to were I was about a minute laiter. But now it will stay frozen for about two minutes and log me off. The best way to get out of it is quit the game and log back in. But I had it last night, I got dropped FOUR times in the course of not even two hours. I'm going to send a pettition into the support team to see if they can help, because it's really getting out of hand.

I'd just like to play the game for an hour or two and not be logged off every 10 to 15 minutes.

Non related COH

Spent about 3 Hours looking for a trial zone that didn't exist. Wishing that they would nerf the Controller Arche so we would be a wee bit stronger. Okay so i'm just B@tching about it because I chose to be a bloody storm summoner, don't do it. I'm sure there is someone who is happy with it, I am not one of them. O2 boost has saved a few of me team mates though. Fire tankers are far too powerful for their own good. Can't wait to play again i'm going through withdrawls and its only been a day. Okay well i liked the costumes all of you have made. Look me up The Legendary Victorious Tartan Avenger.
Cheers

Yeah, I've ran into a few. I didn't read up on them been added in so I was kind of suprised myself. They aren't to bad though, I just wiped the floor with one Behemoth and a Behemoth Lord in Steel Canyon.
