Step 1: Stop playing the crappy PSX port.
Step 2: Sell it on ebay
Step 3: DL the rom and appropriate emulator
Step 4: Play it.

Step 3 can be replaced with buy the cps2 or saturn versions.

The only way the Tag-out option works on the PSX VS. Games is if you and the CPU have selected the same teams. You'd be better off finding the Saturn port or getting a cab if you want to be able to play the game as it was meant and be able to tag.

yes I know the port is crap, but funnly enough I only paid $20 for it and 4 other PSX games so I didn't care it at least offers a taste of the game. I will pick up a Saturn version when money allows but for now can someone PLEASE give me the code that works. Yes I know you can only have the tag is if you get the same teams but I at least want a taste of what's to come. And as for the rom, I may just have to do that

That's just it. There is no code. The playstation can only load up two characters at a time, which is why the tag option only works if you and your opponent have selected the same teams.

Sitation from GameSpot
he arcade version's big selling point was that you picked two characters and could tag-team between the two at any time during the fight. Your teammate would also come out and help in a two-level team attack, as well as in Alpha counter-style attacks. Since duplicating this on the PlayStation would require keeping four entire sets of animations in memory, the tag feature has been completely removed. You still pick a second character (cruelly taunting players expecting the full functionality of the arcade version), but he only makes his presence felt during the team attacks and counters. To make up for the shortened play time, the one-round battles of the arcade have been extended to the standard two-out-of-three format. Characters also slowly regain life, much like your backup character would in the arcade.

Check out this from IGN then "For the sake of fairness, it must be said that Capcom has included a code in the game that lets to play a pseudo tag-team match. The only drawback is that both players must select the same team of two characters (ie: Ryu and Ken). But it's just not the same experience as a true tag-team match. " http://psx.ign.com/articles/150/150039p1.html

This is the code I'm after, and so far the ones I've tried don't work I need someone with the PSX version to confirm a working code

Yea man, get the Saturn version. Past getting a rom for it, it's the best version out there. It uses the 4 mb RAM cart and runs smooth with all animation and little to no loading at all. Plus you can now play as different people and tag out whenver you please. The Saturn has double the video RAM PS1 has plus with the added 4 mb RAM cart, you're talking about 6 megs compared to one. Very nice stuff my man. :buttrock:
