I was just playing my Art of Fighting 3 cart that i got last week. When it arrived i popped it in and checked to see if it worked. The intro ran and everything seemed fine.

I actually have some time today to PLAY the game and its doing some funny stuff. I'm hoping you guys can help me resolve this.

* Intro, character select, new challenger - all work fine with audio

* First stage (train station) has no audio, nothing at all.
* It doesnt seem to do the stage intro consistently/ jumps right into matches when moving onto next opponent.
* one stage had real garbled sounds that did not match the gameplay, etc.

*some stages seem to be fine (gamplay audio and BGM)

Help please.

I'm thinking the game itself is screwed up.

If you did not insert it right, then the problem would be consistent, not alternating.

I took the cart apart and did the eraser to the contacts put the cart back together inserted it and it worked fine. The contacts looked pretty damn clean though in the first place. Maybe the cart just needed to be tightened down or somethin.

Well that's interesting, so everything works fine now? Very weird, I've never had this kind of problem...

I've had some stuff like this.
My MVS wouldn't boot one day, so I pushed all the connections in tighter and it worked, but I get weird things like on RotD, sometimes when I go the the UniBIOS screen the background goes blank, sometimes is shows the RotD screen behind it.

I think the MVS can just be a stubborn beast when it wants to!

The MVS can be indeed stubborn. Best advice is to keep that beast clean and always check the connectors, especially if you're in the habit of exchanging carts from time to time :)

If you are using an MVS 1 Slot with ROTD, that game has problems.

I only found this out some time after buying ROTD, that if you play it with a 1 Slot, it has resetting problems thorought.

I had the same problem

I would be playing ROTD, then it would just reset (At the final boss) , So I'm guessing if I put it in a 2 or 4 slot, no problems. Any input?
Thanks :crying:

That's right.

Though the Resetting Problems fluctuate immensely with my ROTD Cart.

Sometimes it resets on the 1st Stage in the Intro, and other times I can go through the whole Game, and see the Ending for 3 teams in a row! :annoyed:

Though what I have figured out is 1 Definite Resetting Move :

Right when a Match starts, just after the Intro of the battle, if you Jump Forwards and do an Attack, and the opponent does the same thing, the game WILL Reset, EVERY time.

So I learned not to Jump Forwards and Attack as the 1st move in a Match. :eye: :eye:

Help please.

Was in the mood to play this one again and wouldn't you know the same stuff is hapenning. Ive tried all the slots and I get the same results. I even cleaned the carts contacts with that PCB cleaner stuff and i get the same results.

Sometimes i get the intro to play and even character select music but as soon as i hit the first stage (train yard or whatever) i get no audio (sfx or bgm), once i pass first stage i get bgm for winning sequence and next stage sequence. I then get sfx but still no bgm.

I ran the unibios jukebox and I do get some stage music but i dont think i get it all. crc checks out also (but thats just for the P roms).

might I just have a cart with dead sound roms? just odd that some music plays and others do not.

need help again bump.

I had an AOF 3 in a blue case that did the exact same thing. It drove me crazy so I traded it for WH2!

The MVS a stubborn beast? What an understatement. Welcome to my 6-slot world. Just the order of the carts can screw things up.

Could this be a Bios Chip<>Cart issue..?

Some game carts will not work right with my (old vers 1.2 uni bios) chip in the 4 slot Candy cab.

The other day I put in KOF 02..No sound at all/knocked out the sound on the whole board..even if I oput the cart in by itself..

I took the cart and put it in my 4 slot-Big Red US Bios and it works fine.

IMO bios compatibilty issue.
