CPS2 Kick/Aux Harness question

I finally received a full CPS2 kick/auxiliary harness for use with 3 and 4 player games. Now i didn't realize it until now but i have no idea what pin is the #1 pin on the harness and how the numbering of the pins on the connectors goes. Looking at the female end of the connector (facing you and up) as it plugs in the A board, would it be like this:

or is it

Or something altogether different. Im guessing its the first one but i just want to be sure. Any help is appreciated.

Your first diagram is correct. I suggest downloading manuals for your games from CPS2Shock - the pinout is shown there.

Thanks! i own the actual manual for Dungeons and Dragons: Shadow over Mystara but they did not show an actual picture of the extrta player connector. I completely forgot about CPS2 Shock even though its in my sig. Thanks again.

You're welcome. I didn't realize that the pinout wasn't shown in the manual for D&D:SOM. It is in the US manual that I have for Darkstalkers (in pdf).
