Metal Slug 3 Ostrich glitch

In Metal Slug 3 on MVS in the third level when you get the ostrich, thin glitched lines appear in the sky as you move. This only happens in the ostrich part of the level. Is this normal or is my game screwing up. Thank You

Just so I don't freak out too when I pick up MS3 for my cab, how big/noticeable are the lines and how long to they show on screen?
