Well I told ya I'd be back with some more Manga style girls for your perusal!! If you didn't see the original thread with the first few images feel free to take a look here -

http://www.neo-geo.com/forums/showthread.php?t=90559

I'd really appreciate further feedback from anyone who feels like providing it. Suggestions are always a bonus!! ;) hehe note the subtle tribute to our dearly beloved and last MVS 1 slot produced by SNK on the mecha suit girl :buttrock: no real reason for it other than I wanted some sort of model code and thought why the hell not!! :p

I love the eye-style that you used at the drawings in the other thread. You have your own styles, that's cool and impressive!

I would stick more to that, if I was you ;)

Post some more of your artwork! :buttrock:

Very nice! You're doing a great job, as far as I'm concerned.

I have seen both threads, and I really have to say that your artwork is very impressive. I wish I had your technical skill and everything... your anatomy, faces and poses are so solid.

I love the Kunoichi pic, but I wish the pose was more dynamic. She should be shown with more energy... whether she is jumping vigorously or about to attack with her swords or feet. It's a minor gripe, though.

Thanks for showing us your artworks, and good luck with that commission.

Wow, thanks for all the praise guys!! It makes me feel confident that this first of 4 books is gonna end up being a pretty slick product! :D

Kunai, its interesting what you mentioned about dynamics, as I must admit, particularly recently I've pushed myself to develop more dynamic drawings, but its always something I can push further. One thing for sure is that its always more interesting to view a drawing with loads of movement as you suggest! ;)

All the spreads for the 'Girls' book are done now so I'll have to exercise some more dynamics of pose in the next book and beyond. The next one is based around Mecha/machines/robots which is worlds apart from human characters, but I'll be sure to post some stuff depending on how I fare.

Thanks again so much guys! :buttrock:

very nice!

How do you get the conture and cleanness on your lines? I just got a digital tablet it has helped tremendously but I still cant get it to look that clean.
I would put something in the background even if it was just a solid color plain or shadow sillhouette, it would help the characters contrast to the page and give some more balance to the overall feel of the drawings.

Please do one in color.

You know what is helping me a lot more in terms of dynamic posing? Animation books. Seriously. Although I don't see myself doing any forms of animation in my career, I started reading them to figure out how to bring characters to life. I don't regret doing so... it's been working wonders on my own drawings. Here's a few books I have been recently checking out:

Cartoon Animation by Preston Blair
The Animator's Survival Kit by Richard Williams

You start to get a sense of organization once you read these books. Things like, what your character's personality is like... that would influence their movements and posture, making a clear definition of what you want that character to do, and how to go about rendering that movement correctly and with a sense of fluidity. The books are ideal for comic-book artists as well, but these books can even help make pin-up art look more exciting and convicting.

I hope you can check these books out sometime, if you don't have them yet. If you already do, then please disregard what I just said. I've always felt that us artists should always help each other out, so I just wanted to recommend these great books to you. Please let us know when and where your books will be available... I'd like to check them out and buy them. I really, really like your style of art.

Hope to see more from you. Take care.
