I won't be home for another hour, then I have to find the necessary bin file. It'll take time.

Someone else will probably have this up and running before me, I just wanted to inform the masses.

Wow, that sounds very good. Let's hope it actually works smoothly. I am moving to Germany in a couple of months and I plan to carry only a modded XBOX with me, as an "all in one" device. This would help me sate my thirst for retrogaming while I'm in germany.

sounds promising. I read an article somewhere about this earlier. I'm looking to get a modded xbox as soon as I can find the crystal one (seems to be sold out everywhere).

The only thing weird about this is that if your xbox is already modded then you have everything already and much more. I guess unless you want the OG cds.

It runs really well and has sound effects, I have only tested about 6 games, both actual and cdrws. It loads up fast almost no load times, I have played Iron Clad, Ninja Masters, MS1 and 2, Bust A Move and League Bowling. Also the graphic filters are awesome!

I'm too damn lazy to mod my xbox. :blow_top:

Guess that's next on my list.

I've got a few cd games already, but I only play them on the computer so far... and that has TV out.

The xbox is a little be more "portable" though, and I don't need to hook up the mouse and keyboard to get it going.

Anyway, awesome news.. but I'm in no real hurry to try it out.

Load times are about the same. The xbox version has music and sound fx like in the slug games, on the DC version it had music but no sound fx. Games play smoother than on the DC version. I dont have the entire neo cd library so I cant tell you how each run, but so far so good.

Hello Guys,

Some help on using this emu would be much appreciated:

Unpack all the files from the archive to a directory. Ensure the neocd bios is
called "neocd.bin" and add it to the bios directory (it should not be compressed
- it will be 512kb in size).

Insert a neogeo cd into your dvd drive .

Run the neocd exectuable.

If all goes well NeoCD/SDLx should detect the cd drive that the cd is in and run
the game.

There doesn't appear to be a bios subdirectory in the code I downloaded - do I make one manually?

Also, the neocd.bin file is not included in the download, correct?

Thanks for your help, can't wait to have a go at this!

I tried it, works pretty well, but I still prefer to use TEH ROMZ. I tried 3 games:

KoF 98 worked well, Gan Gan had some graphic trouble, and Windjammers had the menus missing and no sound effects.

It's a shame it doesn't read isos, oh well...

evo, you need to download the bios separately and put it in that folder (the folder was there already in my case).

The only problem is there are no current roms for Iron Clad or Crossed Swords 2. This is a great way to play these games without the horrendous loading, and the extra mini missions on the slugs are pretty fun too.
