I thought I'd check and see if anybody has interest in going to see either of these movies this coming weekend (May 28th - 31st). They have both been out for a while, but are just making it to MN this weekend.

Linkys with more info...

Coffee and Cigarettes
The Twilight Samurai

As they are only playing at one theatre a piece (Uptown and Edina respectively) the only thing that is flexible is date and showtime... I'm completely open to suggestions as I have Friday through Monday off (YES!!! 4 DAY WEEKEND).

Hope to see a few of you there,

Criterionradiohead ;)

I should've figured as much. No biggie though, at least we agree on the other two.

:D

Hmm, so how are we gonna do this? How about we see Twilight Samurai friday night, go see The Day After Tomorrow saturday afternoon, do an early dinner and save Coffee and Cigs for saturday night when everyone can see it?

How does that sound, everybody?

I don't live in MN, but Iggy Pop and Bill Murray in the some movie sounds too weird to miss.

I'm not completely clear on my weekend plans, but I'm in for whatever I can make. All those movies sound interesting (and I was definitely planning to see Jim Jaramush's new flick).

Oooo Day After Tomorrow looks sweet, but it's looking like Sunday night for me if I don't work.

I want to see both of these movies! I will check in later to see what days & times are decided on...since my weekend is wack-ass open, I have no preferences...

Like I said, its a good plan! It is also amazing that we were able to make one with little to no argument from everyone...we are growing. Now...we only have 2 more days to argue about where we are going to eat. :glee:

This plan sounds good to me! We can't exclude the Grouch! Maybe he'll be wearing a soft shirt again...

Outback Steakhouse perhaps? It doesn't matter to me as long as there's steak, burgers or seafood involved. Khan's? Boca Chica? Dixie's? Green Mill?

I have heard about coffee and cigarettes but I don't know if it will be released in France. I will check-> 5 minutes later, the movie is released in many theaters all over France, even in original version.

Not so fast there kido... we still haven't decided where we are going to see Day After Tomorrow on Saturday. I say anywhere that is showing a matinee in a theatre with stadium seating.

As far as the other two movies and food... we should pick somewhere that is in the relative walking distance, or short drive area of each.

Twilight Samurai is at the Edina theatre (50th and France). I don't know anything in the immeadiate area, but Southdale (Magionos, CPK, Cheesecake Factory, Big Bowl, Ikasu Sushi, etc.) is a hop skip and jump away.

Coffee and Cigarettes is at the Uptwon Theatre (Uptown, duh). There is Famous Daves, Old Chicago, Chino Latino, Davanni's, Figlio, Williams, etc.

Anyway... I'm staying the hell out of where we eat and what theare we go to for Day After tomorrow. Someone call me when we have plans. Cheerio!

Magiono's would work out great for TS, no sushi though, and I've never eaten at the other places you mentioned for Southdale.

We might as well go to Showplace 16 for The Day After Tomorrow. It's close and it leaves plenty of places to go eat afterwards. I'm dying for Boca Chica at the moment.

And I don't know the Uptown area enough to comment on where to eat. Just gimme burgers or steak please.

OK, here's what I suggest for saturday.

Either...

-2PM showing of The Day After Tomorrow at Inver Grove (2hr+ movie).
-Sit down to eat at 4:30-5 o'clock.
-See the 7:10 showing of Coffee and Cigarettes.

or

-4PM showing of The Day After Tomorrow at Inver Grove
-Sit down to eat at 6:15-7 o'clock.
-See the 9:20 showing of Coffee and Cigarettes.

Either way I suggest someone buy the tickets for Coffee and Cigarettes at around noon, because the last time we tried to just "show up" Cowboy Bebop was sold out. Lets not make the same mistake twice, shall we?
