Okay, I'm a hardcore fighter, & on the hunt for a solid stick with as MUCH compatibility across consoles/PC as possible, BUT money is an issue. I have come down to 2 options, please advise if you have opinions on a 2rd:

1. MAS Stick - Seems better quality but EXPENSIVE, especially if I add DC, Neo, & PC support. Worries - too heavy, lacks the 'clicky' joystick feel I like, TOO MANY CORDS. $199.80 PLUS shipping with DC, Neo, & pc support.

2. Red Octane Stick - CHEAPER, and lighter on my lap (MAS sticks cut off my circulation!), plus has the 'clicky' sticky. Worries - the 'long' stick, quality, having to use adapters to get cross-console support.

Any thoughts? Opinions? Suggestions?

Thanks in advance guys

I would get a Red Octane, those things are built so you can easily swap in real parts, from happ where ever. I am actually about to mod one of those gray and yellow Namco psx sticks with sanwa parts, they look incredible and have the same setup as a jp sitdown cab. Its also wiser to get a psx has they always make psx > etc.. adapters.

The RedOctane joystick wouldn't work too well with neo geo games since you don't get four buttons in a row.

But if that doesn't bother you, I would say get the RedOctane one if you prefer jp style stick. Otherwise, go for the MAS

As I said, they excellent for modding, number one unit purchased for that reason so adding two mor buttons is a piece of cake, I need to find the pics of it.

If you like Jpn sticks,go for anything Hori with appropriate adapter, but if you prefer US style sticks,go for MAS.

The Massystems joystick destroys pretty much anything on its path. Get
a small cheap table and you're ready to go.

Dude no MAS!

Well MAS is OK, but seriously for compatability and money wise get a Pelican Real Arcade. Get the Universal model and if you don't like the feel of the stick replace it with a happs Super or Competition stick. It outputs to PS2/XBox/GC and getting XBox to USB adapters it works perfectly in Windows (XP recognized it without needing a driver disk on the ones I used, just had to push the Mode button on the stick).

You get two of them for $100, and if you have to replace the stick that's another $30 or so from Happs. It's very cheap and compatible, plus it's built like a rock. After building multiple sets of my own joysticks I can say that modding these things has to be the best I've used. In fact it is all I use anymore.

Good luck on your hunt.

mass systems sticks are 99 for one system, i think its 25 for each additional system, and it destroys any of those 65 dollar jap ps2 sticks, modded or not.

Mas if you like US setup.

Pelican might be cool if the stick wasnt 10 feet from the buttons.

MAS is pretty much the best.

It takes some getting used to, but in the end you'll come to appreciate its quality.

Yes its heavy, but if you get a little table like tooshort said, you'll be fine.
