ok so i'm taking steps towards modding my xbox. i thought i'd go the no solder route at first but now things have changed. i managed to scrape one of the traces on the top side of the motherboard trying to get the wire inside the stupid d0 point. it's extremely close to the d0 point though, we're talking less than 1mm. so now i'm pretty much forced to solder the wire to the point to restore the connection (xbox won't boot with or without the chip installed now).

can i solder the wire to the d0 point on the board thus repairing the trace to the point and attaching the wire at the same time? do i need to be extremely careful not to get any solder on any of the other traces while doing this? if so, what's the best way to approach this? i'm working in a very small space and i've never touched a solder gun before :p

any general tips on soldering and electrical wiring would be very helpful. i can tear apart and build a pc no problem, but this is virgin territory to me.

oh, and just in case: this is all still 100% legal since the linux bios is still on the chip (assuming i get it to work without trashing my xbox :oh_no: )

thanks!
