I just got my VB today w/ a bunch of games.

Yes, I have a headache..

Anyways, I got to playing with it and had a strange idea.. Red Alarm is a pretty cool little game and it's kinda trippy.

So on a whim... I popped in Dark Side, killed the lights and played Red Alarm.

Damn is it cool. My eyes are still bothering me a little, but that's to be expected. It's a pretty bad-ass experience and Dark Side gives it that extra oomph.

It's f'n sweet. Try it out!

I doubt it, I don't think the VB is emulated, and if it is, you probably lose the 3-d trippy feel of it.

I think so, but most VB emulators aren't very compliant with most roms. I remember trying one out, ran slow (was using an older computer) But it had an option to play in red+blue, so you could use 3d glasses. Just buy the system.

wow, I was being facetious

I didn't think anyone would try to emulate this hardware because of the nature of it

next thing you're going to tell me is that they've sucessfully emulated old 80s picture view toys

vr boy had a really neat 3d look. i think the sega master system had the best 3d with true colors. try to get one of those with the 3d glasses.

Man that sounds so freaken sweet..
Lights off cranking Dark Side Of The Moon playing the VB....
Shoot, having Dark Side Of The Moon on while playing lots would be awesome now that I think about it..

It's so hard to get away from the headaches this machine enduces.

I try to sit back from it a bit whereas my face isn't stuck into the shroud.
Then I manipulate the focus to try and lower the strain on my eyes.

Another think I have seen done and I have done to one of my VBs is reversed the legs.
Putting them on backwards.
To do this you have to break off the inner clips under the VB,then It'll go on.

It gives the VB more arch/lean forward for easier use.
If you try and and get the legs on backwards you'll see what I mean..

I must say Red Alarm was better then I expected...
I got pretty far into the game and I think I got my ass handed to me by something.

I have to try playing with the lights off cranking Dark Side Of The Moon.

Do you have Galactic Pinball..?

Actually, I believe it has been emulated. I saw a link saying "Virtual Boy Emulator" the other day. I only think I noticed the link because I laughed saying "Man...what a stupid idea. You'd lose the 3d effect that made Virtual Boy games fun"

Heh... I actually tried mounting it backwards when I unpacked it originally because it looked ike it made sense that way... came close to breaking it.

Red Alarm is keeping my attention pretty well. It's a interesting game and I really like the way it plays. Hard as hell though.

I have galactic pinball and it's HARD. The sound is good and the concept is interesting. I'll put more time into it later.

The games are OK. Nothing spectacular. I'm getting more into a few of them and I definitely like Red Alert, Galactic pinball and Mario Tennis. Teleroboxer is OK, Golf sucks and Waterworld.. I refuse to put in.

I have a few other games to get to.

Hmm... I just tend to play the VB while laying down. (IE: lie down on your back in bed and then plop the VB on you.) For the controller, just rest your hands on your stomach and you should be comfortable enough. :P Strangely enough, I've almost feel asleep a few times like this though.

Umm... If you really want a headache, you should probably try Panic Bomberman. There is just WAYYYY too much happening at the same time... (IE: background scrolls, the opponent does their moves, things zoom in and out.)

Oh... and for the person asking, the VB games actually are pretty good. The system and games are cheap enough to deserve to be picked up. :P

get the WARIO game. you will not regret it. and mario clash is so freaky...

infact, I love the VB because its so freaky. I can see how dimming the lights putting on some Pink Floyd and playing Red Alarm can work. Maybe getting stoned before hand as Shiro said is an even 'better' idea. I have to try it some day.

I love the Bomberman puzzle game too.

I haven't been able to get the more expensive titles (they are too expensive), but the Space Invaders and Bowling game look like great fun.

I must say that was a great choice in music.. :buttrock:

I've never played Waterworld...I don't own it..I was always curious to what it was like.

I refused to pay the high price it would list/sell for on Ebay..I'm not sure what they run now..
Nester's Funky Bowling I find hard/The Baseball I can't get a hang of.

Mario Clash is decent and Wario Land is long whereas you'll be playing for awhile, but cool...providing you want to actully play a platform type game on this machine.

If you take off the two square blocks that are actually on the legs where you attach the headset to the legs.
You will be able to put the legs on either way.
There are just put there to align/force you to put the legs on one way.

I kept seeing VBs pictured in magazines with the legs backwards and when I tried to do it I couldn't until I took those two plastic block/ers off.

Edit..
.........
Oh ..I only had Teleroboxer for a few months now..
I gave it a whirl,it's different but gets real hard and no matter what I do I can't win.
