I was just wondering, if anyone out here uses any N64 emus, which one(s) do you use? And with what plugins? What is your optimum experience?

I haven't used it a whole lot, but Project 64 works very well, even on not-so-powerful systems.

I run Surreal64 on my Xbox, it gives you a choice of 3 different emus and gives you a wide range of options for each. The control is good but there are some major issues with the shadows and music.

My experience is that it's really not worth the trouble. Just grab an N64 - they're pretty cheap anyways.

Er... I haven't used on in three years.

Well, I managed to get Starfox 64 running at 1600x1200. Some graphics were missing, and the whole experience was prone to crashing. However, it showed promise. Anything that lets me play Starfox 64 at 1600x1200 earns my recognition.

I used the first one like RIGHT when it came out and haven't really touched it since. I have an N64 with all the games I would want anyway so it doesn't really matter.

I think it was called Ultra 64.

U64 is the arcade emulator. I'll bet it's Project 64 that you used.
But I agree N64 emulation sucks. I wish it were better because there are a few games that I love on the N64 but the emulation just isnt there. And I'd rather emulate it because it looks better being played on a Billy Box or a PC than the actual system.

He probably meant Ultra HLE, which is a N64 emulator. I used to use Corn, it was the fastest but had no save states. Now that I have a fast computer I run Project 64. Runs plenty of games well with little to no errors. Runs both Zeldas, Conker, Goldeneye, 1080, Smash Brothers, Banjo, Mario 64, Mario Kart, Turok nicely. I haven't tried many other games because well, finding N64 roms isn't a fun task. And there aren't many games I would want to play for it.
