It's lookin' pretty damn grim, IMO. Very sad to see them go, but that's the new corporate whore world for ya.

Sega has been in the shit since DC flopped. They have had loads of internal reshuffling with dev teams merging and changing over the past couple of years. maybe this will give them some stability and they can start getting back to where they were 12 years ago?

I better go and snag me up copies of Virtua Fighter 4: EVO, Kunoichi and a few other SEGA stuff before the shit truly hits the fan. It's sad indeed, but it seems that all of the great companies of the past just can't wing it out alone anymore is all. Before long ROCKSTAR will have their own "Adult Violence V.R. Console"... just you wait. :crying:

Does it really matter to a lot of people anyway? How many people have purchased an xbox and Sega's newest (and some of the best) games?

I purchased an Xbox for Halo.

And then another one to steal games and play romz.

Rallisport 2 is fucking out-fucking-stand-fucking-ing btw.

It is too bad, I love Sega games but if they are gone, they are gone. C'est la vie.

This isn't so bad. True, the name has been changed, but at least SEGA is a part of the name. Now they're "one of the biggest game companies". That can't be bad.

Wishful thinking aside, I'm positive they will announce a home console within the next two years. Sega is console manufacturer by heart and Sammy is propably itching to try it also. With their new fortunes, they can also afford it.

Yeah...looks like this is the end of the road for SEGA. The company has been struggling for the past several years. They have been unable to match the success they had during the 16-bit era...oh well I still got my Genesis/CD system.:) This news was no shock to me.

It will be interesting to see the direction which Sammy pushes Sega over the next 2 years. I read on magic-box earlier that Sega is restructuring again by bringing there dev studios back under the Sega name. What they need now is stability, and hopefully Sammy can do that. I think that a new Sega/Sammy console at some point may not be wishful thinking, but I can't see it happening anytime soon.

I am truly saddened at this news. Sega was one of the most innovative companies in the videogame industry. Well this is all a result of Sony entering the market, not to mention that the Dreamcast was a test run for Microsoft in the console market, the Dramcast had a version of Windows CE running it, and it was made with basically off the shelf video hardware (similar to Xbox). Then they became MS's bitch. I hope the company still has some good games in it. :(
