Just finished the pal version and wow, what a fucking great game. Some of the best imagery i've ever seen in a game, and breathtaking throughout. Yes it is a cheap fucker but once you learn that the enemies are there to kill you and not the other way around for once, you learn to play the game in a different way and it's so damn satisfying for a change to plough through a bastion of enemies and feel you've actually accomplished something...anyways clear time was 20hours 15minutes which is bloody long for an action game, just a few questions though.

How many scarabs in total? i finished the first time with 38, i hear you need 50 to unlock the original?

Is it possible to have level 3 on all Ninpo before the end of the game?

Any easter eggs/ amusing things to try?

There are 5o scarabs total

Yes, you can level up all you Ninpo

Don't forget you can unlock Ninja Gaiden 1,2,3

Max the Wooden sword: it becomes the most powerful weapon in the game.

Beat the game on all difficulties for some nice extras!

Getting NG1 is the hardest... you must collect all the scarabs.

Part 2 and 3 you have to get grand master or something in all the levels, but there are easier ways to get them too. I never bothered to unlock them because I already have them on Nintendo. :mr_t:

But enough about the secrets. This game really is bad-ass. I'm glad you enjoyed it. It is quite long for an action game (especially if you add in all the parts where you DIE :very_ang: :cool: ) It's very beautiful and worth the wait for it to be released.

Yep, you have to get all the Scarabs and go to the shop to get Ninga Gaiden one. After that, hoot the clocktower in the city with the bow to get NG2, and here's a clue for 3: in a later level, there is a pillar in which you got a scarab. Go back there on a second time.

Initially, I was a little put off by NG - but I must admit that I've actually started to warm up to it a bit. I'm still not a worshipper, but it's definitely a solid game.

I still think it sucks.

No offense, but when I need to practically tape down the block trigger button in order to succeed at being a NINJA, it makes no fucking sense.

It's called, practice practice practice. Lots of people work themselves up to be good at a game. Especially one with a good difficulty level. Don't single this one out as the exception to the rule. This game can be beaten by using a good variety of moves, and is quite necessary. Sure, there's times you have to block, but so does a decent level of play in a 3D fighting game.

It think its sucks too.

- TOO repetitive;
- almost the same enemies over and over;
- lack of basic lighting effects;
- looks so 'sterile' - looks like and hospital surgery room.
