how do you remove spyware/addware for free??

i am having some serious computer problems. i used one of those spyware removal downloads and found 88 infections. but, i cant remove them unless i buy the software. i don't have $40.00 lying around at the moment. so i woudl REALLY appreciate it if someone could fill me in on where a free spyware and addware removal software is located.

Hey,

You can also use Spy Sweeper & Spybot Search & Destroy, they both have free versions and they work great. I currently use both of them as they get rid of spyware that the other doesn't. I've also heard good things about ad-aware as well, but I have never tried it? I discovered them while I was watching Techtv, you can find both on www.download.com. I hope this helps? Laters...
