I've been out here in Sacramento, Calfornia for about 2 months now and since talking to my friends I've been wanting to get into IIDX. Is there any place in California that may sell the game and official controller? or do I need to go online and get it?

If you cannot get one locally, please let me know, I want to sell/trade mine.

weird, I thought I'd seen someone named Dark Rurouni on VJ Army (online IIDX ranking site)... I guess you're just another person that has the same name?

But anyway, good luck finding a controller, they're sold out mostly everywhere. I think http://www.toysnjoys.com might still have them, but I wouldn't recommend dealing with them as they might make it SEEM like they have the stock, but are really waiting to get it from a supplier, and they don't tell you this and make you wait and wait and wait...

from what I have heard though, Konami is supposed to be producing a new batch of controllers in July. Hopefully online retailers will get a hold of them again and the prices will drop a bit.

And with me posting that's pretty much all the beatmania fans from this site here. :)

Yes, the price has gone up on these things in the past few months since people are moving on from DDR into this game.

I just have a couple of 5 key controllers because I'm just a casual player who likes to play 2 players and then 10 key but eventually I'll get a 7 key controller. The way I see it, there's no hurry to get into it when I'm still interested in other bemani.

From time to time people will sell their controllers on http://www.bemanistyle.com , which is also a good site to check out if you need information or want to chat about the games. As a matter of fact, check out the Cali forum, there's bound to be someone who can help you there.

I don't know about that. I kind of got into Pop'n on accident anyways. I cannot do any of the hyper songs yet, but I can beat most 9 line songs.

kiun: Have you looked at play-asia.com?

There's no Pop N Music in my area, but I have seen pictures of the machine, what kind of music is in the game? I need a new music game to get into, never got into DDR cus I'm too fat :help: It'll either be Pop N Music or Drummania.

Pop'n has an enormous variaty of music compared to all the other Bemani games. If you can think of a style of music it is probably in a Pop'n game somewhere. Hell I love some of the stuff in PnM 7 that sounds like David Bowie. Pop'n is alot of fun, and I never liked DDR. I use to play Beatmania through the 3rd append (the 1st beatmania with only 5 buttons) and I enjoy Pop'n much better.

Those pictures are very nice, clean set up.

So people interested in my controller? Amazing, haha.

anybody know where I can get the best price for 7th style?

You are going to be stuck payin out of the ass for it because its a Konamistyle exclusive. I got mine from Play Asia for $79 before shipping. I believe its now $84 bepfre shipping. And I would get it while you can... the price is going to go up. They are already pre ordering for a third batch in Japan...

this is the truth

$79 + shipping is about as cheap as you're going to find for 7th Style. And I wouldn't expect it to go down in the future, since it's uncertain how many retailers will still be stocking the game in the future...

although I'm still waiting for my copy to get here, everyone says it's the best home version yet... how can you go wrong with a total of 90 songs?

And PNM 9 has 110...SO :p lol...I'm playing. I also have PNM 8 and 9. I dont play them as much as IIDX but thats because I dont have a ASC for PNM. I dont really like using the small controller for it. It takes away from the fun. Oh well...

What shocks me is that Pop'n 6 has over 90 songs for the PS1.

Anyways, I am in the process of building an ASC, I am just waiting on the buttons. The current one that I am using is "Shaper's Mini-ASC" lol. It gets the job done and only cost me like $25 to build. Here is a picture of my first design that I was comissioned to build. Mine looks similar yet it has an overhang for the top panel so it does not look like a box.

It simulates more of the ASC because I have to move my hands much further than on the Konami-Mini. The only problem that I am running into now at the level 25-is mark is that the buttons are still sligtly too close together and a bit to small. This is not necessarily bad as it just makes me improve my accuracy.

The only Pop'n that I currently have is 7, but I have 8 and 9 on their way.

WOW Shapermc, your hardcore...building your own controller from scratch :loco:

The only mod I'm thinking about doing is throwing in happ controls to my joysticks and maybe making inlay art to cover the bottom :help:

Sharpermc, I know your hardcore enough to do this if you wanted, but your "smart" also :smirk:

For those with the Beatmania ASC, what makes the ASC really worth purchasing? I have not tried one, and from the pictures all I know is that it is gigantic and very heavy.
