I've got a few hundred comic books that I've had for awhile and haven't even touched. If I had to guess I would say they were all together worth at least 800 bucks. I haven't touched them for years, and they're all in individual bags and most of them have backboards so they are all in good shape.

Any suggestions on how I should go about selling them?

Depending on what they are you may or may not even get cover price out of them. Comics are usually better sold in large lots, but if you've got some choice titles/storylines in there then they could be good to sell in smaller lots. Stuff from the 90's isn't worth much at all, just to warn you.

I sold some comics to a shop a few years back and they wouldn't even look at them. They would only pay a flat rate of $25 per long box, didn't matter what the comics were.

Mine used to be worth a few hundred bucks - now I doubt I get pay somebody to haul them off.
