Hmmm interesting. I'd suggest either PSX or Saturn, probably the previous for sheer volume of titles available.

Dreamcast. However, I was glad to see that KOF was released for the PS2. IMO the PS2 comes in second. It has KOF and MK: Deadly Alliance.

Maybe I'm in the minority but in terms of 2D the Saturn offers a far purer exprerience than the Dreamcast. I consider the Saturn a work horse when it comes to 2D. I loved kof 96 on it and the various Capcom fighting games.
When I play 2D games on Dreamcast I just get the sense that the system is patronizing the style, with its 3D backrounds, and special effects in Guilty Gear. I mean, how many fighting games are there on the Dreamcast anyway?

For 3D, its the original playstation all the way. There's alot of fights to be had on that system as opposed to more modern systems - and by far my favourite genre is the fighting games.

Well it's hard choosing between the DC and saturn. The question is pretty much whether you prefer late 90's fighter's to mid 90's.

The neo ports were great on both (slightly better on the DC), and there were great capcom ports on both as well.

But im going to go with the Saturn, and choose the console that has World Heroes Perfect, and Groove on Fight over the Console with Garou and SF III.

Naw.. I love both the same.

Definately the DC, all due to one game:

Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike

There are others, but that one game makes it the surperior system for fighters next to the Neo.

Although I will say I haven't spent time with the Saturn, so take that up as the next system on my list to start collecting

it depends what fighters you like. saturn definetly has the edge for perfect CPS2 capcom stuff, darkstalkers series, alpha 1, 2, 3 Gold, the pre MvC vs. games, cyberbots etc., also for example sf alpha 3 is better on saturn because it has the arcade sized sprites.

but dreamcast wins out on sheer fighting game numbers, i don't think any system has more, all the CPS3 stuff, the neo ports, GGX, all the 3D capcom games, vf3, DOA2, Soul Calibur etc.

I'd say for 2D it's a tie between saturn and DC, for 3D clearly DC, although saturn does have some 3D gems like Fighters Megamix which is still awesome.

Xbox is starting to get up there, but there is still less than 8 fighters on the system, the main draw is the online play.

lmao xbox is better than GBA by far, and the NGPC should be ahead of the GBA as well, it's got the best portable fighter ever, SvC.

I'll have to go with the DC, but I admittedly have very little experience with the Saturn. Looks like it has some great fighters though. The xbox is shaping up pretty nicely, but the stuff out on it at the moment is kinda weak. PS2's library for fighters is a bit better than xbox's.

I think the Neo is the best console for fighters, hands down - just for the record.

There's one game missing from the CPS3 line-up and that's Warzard, but other than that, you have the 3 SFIII games and the 2 JoJo games

I'd like to play Groove On Fighting on the Saturn

DC. It's like having an arcade in your room, w/o all the crappy food at the consession stand.

I still have to edge out NGPC over GBA as well. Mainly because the NGPC still rules with the fighting game controls. No GBA fighter feels as good and tight as the NGPC ones. Funny enough, it's mainly due to a Hardware feature and not a software one. Probably one of the only liable comparisons here, for that since consoles have the luxury of using adaptors, real joysticks, etc.

One thing I wish about the Saturn Pad Controllers were that they lasted longer. They're great to play on, but the only ones (on that system) with real lastability are the 3D pads (ala. Nights). I need to seriously get more Saturn pads. (Particularly for Bomberman Wars) Saturn has great pads, but they fall short in durability.

Modded Xbox for all the CPS2 and Neo games, and Capcom vs SNK 2 AND SF Hyper, 3rd Strike, and Guilty Gear XX Reload later this year. Yep.

EDIT: I forgot, MK1 and 2 will be coming out later this year too but if you have a modded box then you're fine.

If people have xbox on the last of their list... they've never played xbox before or are just being gay.
