MD 3 is awesome. The only pronlem is that you dont blink when you play so your eyes start to hurt after a while.

MD3 is one of the greatest puzzlers of ALL TIME! This is one homecart I am going to purchase at one point cause I love this game so much. MD Pocket is okay for now, but I'll have to get the MVS soon for playing purposes.

MD3 is GREAT! :buttrock: :buttrock:

But I prefer Money Puzzle Exchanger - I just don't understand why this game don't receive the love that deserves. Obs: try to play in japanese too - the currency difference affects the gameplay! ;)

Remake, plz.

This is one game in which I wish I could find the Saturn version. I keep seeing it pop up at conventions and such, just making fun of me saying, "Here's that elusive Saturn MD3, that you can't buy."

MD3 might be the best neo game, if not best game on any system.

It's a phenonmenal puzzle game, addictive as hell and INSANE for one-on-one action.

RevQuixo ownzzz j0000 for free in this game, his skills are unmatched.

I have Bust-a-Move/Puzzle Bobble. Should I trade it for a Magical Drop game or keep it and just buy MD3?

Regarding Rev, if he comes into this thread at all: I may be mistaken but I think he was a master and strong supporter of the Saturn game as well from his old days. He could probably correct me on this one, though.

I bought this game over the weekend and got it today. Man is it fun! My sister and I, spent the better part of the day playing it. It's one of the best puzzle games I've ever played.

The only problem is that she seems to like it too much... I fear for my future playtime with my Neo.

I also got my MD3 and it was filthy, cleaned it, works great. Like it much better than Puzzle Bobble.

Thanks for the tip, jocappy. My fiancee is into puzzlers and I figured if I buy a game like MD3 once I get my cab, she'll be less angry when she sees what else is in the box. :smirk:

As for hateful_liar, is your sis older or younger than you? If younger, just tell her to beat it and get her own game. j/k

LOL! My fiancee hates Neo Geo, in fact most video games! EXEPT Puzzle Bobble and now Magic Drop 3!

Really? Sorry to hear that, man. :p
Mine liked games but was never really into them. Since then, she's beaten FFVII, almost finished KOTOR, started Xenogears, has a few franchises in the ESPN games and is addicted to a load of Neo games: Metal Slug series, League Bowling and she seemed to like SamSho III.

I've tried to get her to play a few games on my NGPC, other systems and arcades without overloading her.
My advice: Introduce a few new puzzlers, then some game with puzzle elements in them and see what happens from there.

Oh, and how to keep this related to MD3...
MD3 pwns? :glee:

it's one highly addictive game, and with another player, one highly intense one as well.

That's the sign of a good game - When it can be enjoyed by oneself or with another.

Is MD2 even worth getting at all?

Heheh. Naw, she's older then me. What's worse is I owe her money. I also rely on her car for transportation to work and school. She pretty much owns my ass :glee:

Ouch. Hey, we're here for ya, though. :mr_t:

Hey verythrax, what's a thread where we don't bump into each other? Why do you prefer Money Puzzle Exchanger over MD3? MDE's another game I was looking into, actually, so I'm interested in hearing your views.

If thats the case we should have RevQuixo vs. Bobak, cause I know for a fact that Bobak laws down the law in that game. It would make for a very interesting match...

Magical Drop 3 kind of reminds me of the Puzzle game with the soul of a shooter in it. You don't just get good at Magical Drop, you get "In the Zone" with Magical Drop.

Disturbing someone in the midst of Magical Dropping, is akin to waking a bear from hibernation. Every part of your being goes into beating that tough opponent as you move your character at speeds approaching a total blur. Not many games, outside of tough shooters, require ALL of your attention span to the game, these days. Thus why I feel it has that shooter soul. The placing of unhealthy demands on the player, letting them take a short break only between sessions. What goes beyond the shooter is the sheer physical demand it puts on your hands and arms.

Problem is, the only way you can stay "In the Zone" is to keep playing it. You lose your edge if you don't keep at it. It's kind of scary when you need to keep up with MD3 just as you would need to in any excercise program.

(Have you had your Magical Drop excercises today?????)
^ Maybe someone needs to make that a wearable Pin label or something.
Put a random MD mascot with the slogan :)

Ok, I heard the game was intense but that's amazing! I'm going to mark this game as one of the first I want to buy.

kirk foiden described it pretty well. that's the thing i love about magical drop 3. it's a puzzle game, but you really shouldn't think while you play because it will only screw you up. in order to succeed in it, you just have to "be one with the game." or as the dude in last samurai said, "no mind."

Although I love Puzzle Bobble, MD3 is still my favourite NeoGeo puzzle game. Original characters, different game modes, great graphics and incredibly addictive.
Great game

MD3 is good stuff. I'll admit, it's a very good game, but I generally only enjoy it 2player. Though Bust-A-Move (and BAM Again) wipes the walls with MD2-3. Yeah I said it, which fanboy wants to kill me first?

Never playing an MD game before, only seeing one, I am very happy I got BAM but as mentioned on here, I will be picking up MD3 as soon as I can.

A puzzle game worthy of BAM is a definite purchase for me!
