I've gott say, I like Alien, I like Predator, I even like Chess...

But I don't like that set...

It looks like it would scare children...

I just wouldn't want to play chess with that thing...

Its a nice idea, but man that is FUGLY chess set. I'm more of classic chess guy I guess. I love nicely crafted wood pieces.

My sentiments exactly. I don't even like playing with really intricate sets anyway. IMO, Nothing beats a tournament-style set with a rollup board. I might buy one one day for display, but certainly not this one. The predator side especially just seems uninspired.

I really like the pieces, the board is so-so.

I don't get the whole obsessive love with those plain pieces and roll-up boards (There's a hugely popular chess club at my law school, and they would always play in the lounge of my old office so I'd talk to them about it all the time).

I own two chess sets: Chess 4-D (four-way, very fun) and a very nifty "College Rivalry: USC v. UCLA" chess set. I couldn't find an exact picture, but here's one example of what they look like:

Bobak, 4-D Chess? I must see this and play this. Sounds like fun.

Themed chess sets are great. I'm more of a classical styled chess set kinda guy myself like Big Shady. Nothing beats some nice wood or stone pieces, although that increases the price considerably.

I actually only own one chess board, its fairly decent board i made in wood shoop in 12th grade. I started to make some pieces out of aluminum (foundry owns) but they didnt turn out so hot. They still need a lot of touch up work...maybe i'll finish them since schools out.

p.s: chess rules.

they could have left some "marines" figures to play checkers :)

Nah. The pieces are very nice but it would be a hassle to play chess on a set like that.

The Aliens are quite diferent from each other, but the Predator pieces are quite easily confusable.
