Yeah um, strange question, but what would be a good anime movie that chicks dig? I was thinking Princess Mononoke, but any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Hoshi no Koe (Voice/Star) is a good movie... until you realize just how retarded it is.

Girls do like Akira, actually. One of my female friends was interested in Ghost in the Shell at first.

Meh... find an Inu Yasha movie or something :P
I find that HK romance-comedy works better with my female friends, anyways.

Well, aside from the physics of the situation...

The storyline is just too stupid. A girl goes off to space and fights... wtf?
It makes some sense once you watch it, and yeah it is tear-jerking, but the ending is one of the dumbest I have ever seen. By herself, she takes down an entire mothership thing? With her beam sword thing? Ridiculous.

Yeah, I know it's just anime (and yeah, I know it's made by a guy and his I-Mac). Still, I laugh at that everytime.

Hm, thinking about logistics in this case is completely missing the point. But feh, I love the story, and that's the point of it, at least I think.

My opinion, your opinion, ok.

My girlfriend will watch Miyazaki, liked Ghost in the Shell, and buys Disney SEs for herself, and that's about it. She doesn't like robots, she doesn't like fighting, and she doesn't like shooting (except for GitS for whatever reason). I've never had a huge compulsion to make her watch animation anyway, so it works out. I don't make her watch FLCL and she doesn't make me watch teapots singing to each other in whatever Disney movie. Good deal.

As usual, I'll recommend Leiji Matsumoto's work. I'm a huge Galaxy Express fan, and a Captain Harlock nut.

His work's dramatic, not too violent, but not mushy either.

Kiki's Delivery Service

Makes me miss Phil Hartman when I watch the dub, though. :(

I suppose Ah! My Goddess would work well? :spock:
