Sup,

I wanted to buy a book from them and was wondering how reliable they are? Planning to pay with a Visa card, is it safe?

- Thanks

I've been buying DVDs from amazon for years and no trouble. Try to buy $30 and get free shipping.

Amazon is one of the biggest online retailers, so there is no need to worry about them taking your money and running. There site is secure and even someone did manage to get your credit card details VISA would refund you in full.

although occasionally they'll piss you off when they take forever to actually ship your stuff to you. this is mostly with the free shipping orders (i've had at worst, the item actually not being shipped out til a week and a half after i had initially ordered)

Yes you right they do do that every now and then.

I've had no real problems with Amazon. Occasionally I'll get a book that's a little more banged up than I had hoped for, but still nothing too terrible.

I've only bought DVDs through them and I must say I was impressed.

As for books... why don't you go to a brick and mortar book store?

(Tom feels, like pants, books should only be bought when one can physically handle the item)

I recommend Amazon.com. Dealt with them times-a-plenty with no problems...plus the free shipping with the $30 + orders comes in handy ;)

I can't believe someone would wonder about Amazon.

I've used them since I started shopping online in '98, never looked back.

Excellent service. I've only had one or two mess ups (ex: back in 99 they sent me the wrong item), but they've fixed them up well (they sent me the correct stuff).

Even your orders from members on there are 100 percent safe. I've shopped from them for books for school, and for getting great deals on books for regular reading. They are partnered with borders books. It's like buying from a regular bookstore. If you don't mind the long shipping time (4-14 business days), go for it.

It's my first stop when I shop online. I have nothing but good things to say about Amazon.

they're great. I usually have a wish list running though,
so I can ship out a bigger shipment than just a one item.
the only thing lacking is trying to change an order after you put it in.
once you put it in, forget about it. and adding orders together or adding
items to another order is pretty much impossible even though they make
mention of it on their site and their directions on how to do it.

Amazon is good, i've ordered a few things from them... thing is, their "free shipping" for orders > $30 is UPS. And I hate UPS b/c they always want a signature.
