OK, Ive been using the Advanced Search page a good deal and keep getting a message like THIS with a white background when I tell it to search (not always, just in many cases):

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 8388608 bytes exhausted at (null):0 (tried to allocate 129 bytes) in /home/www/neo-geo/forums/search.php on line 815?

:crying:

For example I was curious as to the current price of Metal SLug for Neo CD. SO I type in "Metal Slug Neo CD" on the Advanced Search page and tell it to search the full text of posts and to search the Wanted forum. It then gave me that message consistently (I tried it about 4 times)

Can someone please fix this. It is keeping me from searching effectively

Thanks! :help:

I think the problem is that you can't search for words less than 2 or 3 letters long. So the word "CD" here, and maybe even "Neo", is what is causing your trouble.

Amano/ALL - Ok then any suggestions on how to modify my search parameters to get similar results to if you COULD search for those smaller words? :-)

And, um isn't it a bit ODD for a NEO site to have a Search engine which cant search for the word "Neo" ?' :D

So anybody else know if Amano is right and that is the problem for sure or is it something else?

Well, it'd be futile. In every thread, in almost every post someone types the word, "Neo." So if you searched for the word, you'd more than likely get every thread in the forum. That's why you're getting that error message.

If you're looking for Metal Slug CD, you may be better off making it one word. "MetalSlugCD."

Any overly common word is gonna' get you that message, like searching for "a, and, the, Neo, CD, Sega." It'll just kick out too many threads to be useful. Your best bet is to try to make your search as topic specific as possible, in as few words and characters. i.e. "KOF'96" instead of "The King Of Fighters 1996."

Yes, this really needs to be fixed. Cuz n00bs can't search to see if topics were already posted 1,000,000 so we get more of them
