If Solidus was the third (and last??)Big Boss clone created, and supposed to be perfection between "Solid" and "Liquid" then how come he appears much older than both solid and Liquid ??? Seems like Liquid the first clone looks the youngest of the three.

It also seems like solidus looks a lot like big boss...does that mean that Solid snake will look like him as well?

We're dealing within a universe where stealth clothing is a reality and 5 story tall robots are military devices. Plus the fact that they were able to gentically engineer these so called "enfants Terribles". Solidus WAS the president after all. You could make the assumption that he was artificially aged in order to obtain credibility needed to get these powerful positions. Could be a lot of things. Don't over think it. Enjoy the MGS games. Raiden is a very pretty woman.

He is the same age as them imo. Snake says something like "stop immitating him!" in that scene with the harrier and the helicopter, prolly just colored his hair.

Yeah, Isn't snake in his late 30s, early 40s, in MGS?? Some people can look pretty rough by that age.

I think adding Solidus to the story was a dump idea.

Solidus Snake is the EXACT clone of Big Boss in every way. Since Big Boss was in his 50s or so when he was cloned, that is how Solidus will look. Liquid recieved all the recessive genes and Solid recieved all the dominant genes and they were implanted into an egg and born as babies or something. But since Big Boss was old when he was cloned, they age faster than normal humans. I could be wrong but that's how I remember it.

Now I could be remembering wrong, but I thought they revealed at the end of MGS that that recessive/dominant genes thing was a lie they told to Liquid to see how well he would do in spite of thinking himself inferior, and that Solid and Liquid were actually the same (clones of Big Boss).

As for Solidus, I've read a lot of theories from people completely obsessed with Metal Gear, and apparently it's never been officially explained. I agree with Rade...don't think about it too much, especially when you have to factor it in to the surreality of MGS2's story.

Exactly, Kojima confused himself so much that MGS3 is a prequel starring Big Boss.

Remember in the ending scene of the first MGS. Ocelot says "Yes, the inferior one was the winner afterall." Referring to Solid Snake. Then he says, "That's right... Until the very end, Liquid thought he was the inferior one." You can check out the screenshots here.

So Solid Snake was actually the inferior one and Liquid Snake was the dominant. But both were told the exact opposite to see how they would react. It was just some little game Solidus was playing with both of them. Why, I don't know. It's never really explained.

And yes, we're all reading too much into this... :p
