I'm sorry if this has already been posted. I picked up the game earlier today and haven't really felt too inclined to play it that much.

Prior to playing this game, the majority of my gaming time was spent replaying Ninja Gaiden on the Xbox. It seems that Ninja Gaiden has spoiled me with it's superb gameplay. Onimusha seems slow, crude, and ugly by comparsion. I used to love the Onimusha series but ever since I played Ninja Gaiden, Onimusha's is fucking garbage!

At some point I know that I'll go back to playing the game in order to justify my purchase. Oh well!

I haven't yet but, rest assured, I WILL.

I am in love with Onimusha I tell you. Especially the second one. If number three is anywhere near as great as number two... I will explode with excitement. Explode.

I just need the school year over - then I can go back to Indy and play some games...

Like
MGS twin snakes

metroid zero mission
mario and luigi...

I've missed a lot probably...

Just get an xbox and stop wasting your money on these stupid PS2 games.

Would really depend on your gaming style. I've completed Ninja Gaiden and Genma Onimusha 1,2 and about 3.5 hours worth of Onimusha 3. I liked the freedom of Ninja Gaiden for a while then it got really tedious, what with the ridiculously slow and dodgy camera chase. I found myself getting injured more because I couldn't see the enemy in time. And also because of the dodgy camera chase, the control of direction in a tight spot would suddenly warp/swap. Plus that most of the environments were really quite bland. There seemed to be disproportionate love put into the character movement and the environment he moved in.

Onimusha 1&2's pre-rendered scenes were beautiful, and I was a little concerned about the real-time 3D environments lacking detail in 3 but so far, it's really top-notch, the addition of the analog control also greatly speeds up the gameplay. From switching to digital direction during fights and then analog during movement.

One gripe however, is that the story so far seems quite linear until... don't want to post spoilers. ;) Played through Genma Onimusha 2 through twice and the game was completely different.

The character Jacques, modeled on Jean Reno, has some really nifty weapon moves. mmmm, again, no spoilers. Onimusha 3 is a worthy sequel, and this comes from a guy who loves the first two. HEck, I bought the PS2 because of the ROBOT intro movie and having played Oni 1 on the XBox.
