Those are cool .... but are there some bigger images where we could see some of the detail in the actual screenshots?

You think Robert's is bad, look at Takuma's.
Jeez...that up-turn nose look is just retarded.
He's already the stupid 2002 version...why should he have a stupid potrait, too.

Whoo! Mature's in there! Here's hoping for Goenitz and Vice.

Other than that, I'm with previous posters....it's looks like KOF Evolution on DC with bigger sprites.

No way man. 2000/2001 Takuma is the best version/s.
2002 has a whole shitload of terribly nerfed taps from previous Takuma's.
They ruined his entire character unfortunately.

KOF 2002 is the worst Takuma so far.
Hes way over rated competitively.

SVC Mr Karate lacks his most important dm, but still holds up well.

Strong? Yes. Fun to play? No (imo). The whole 2k2 feels plasticky to me.

Anyway, the first reply in the thread over at s-c.com pretty much sums it up how I feel... ...yes I will bitch and whine about crappy 3D backs, anti-aliased/filtered but still re-used sprites, the low hardware base and the overall downfall of gaming culture and whatnot, but I'll play the fucker anyway because I can't help it, it's KoF... at least it looks like it, let's see how it turns out.

:)

I dont know, I just cant agree with him being stronger over all.
As he lacks so much stuff I abuse. His entire character was changed terribly in 2002 for me. And he lacks the cross up-ability he once had.

I wish they could have left his good things alone and maybe made some changes that fans of the character might appreciate.
This is what I never understood about these newer parties, they change so much stuff for the worse as opposed to the better.

I don't like 2k2 Takuma at all but if you play him right he is as strong as ever, not exceptionally stronger than in 98/2k/2k1 IMO, except that he can beat Omega Rugal with only his new-style Ko'ou Kens and a bit of rolling + attack but that doesn't really count, charas like Chin can do that as well (with some f+D -> rolling -> cD -> repeat, etc.).

I think its just me then.

He just doesnt work for my playing style.
The matches I had in 2002 had all the best tiers in use, Billy/Shermie etc.
You cant even touch a good shermie user with Takuma in 2002, cause tak is severely weakened.

I only fought one tourney level shermie user. I beat his previous team and he chose her and I couldnt do a damn thing. What a great player.
Shermies sCD has amazing priority.

Competitively I've gotten nothing to remember from tak. I get owned easy.
I'm as shallow as the next guy, I'm all for Shermie, Billy, Kim/random in 2002.
Its funny though, 2002 has my favorite Kim next to ffs Kim.
2002 is a extremely mixed bag, but it has some great competitive quality's.

Ummmmm....where's Kim?! I rarely use the character but they put Jhun in over him? WTF?! If you just GOTTA have Jhun then take f'ing Chang and Choi out and rep them with Jhun and that May Lee girl (I think that's her name, the one from 2001).

Takuma's portrait is terrible, and the lifebars look so uninspired. This looks very similar to the KOF2k1 ps2 port in terms of graphic style.

i saw several GODLY takuma in monte ( kof 2002 )
not only i never reached round 4,
i could barely drain 50 % of his energy

lost his cross up ability ? ha,you havent seen what those guys can do

what i'm trying to say is: ( example )
your best friend is into oro yashiro but your friend's a bit crap
so you play against his yashiro and then read all this stuff in internet
like,oro yashiro = top tier
and you think to yourself : come on thats bs

then you play against a pro and his yashiro and you cant even reach round 4

thats the beauty of fighting games, really

I agree with Takumaji regarding 2K2 Takuma. if used properly, he can be as strong as his previous versions, if not stronger. I personally don't use him, but I know some one who always gives hard times for other players when he uses Takuma ..... even the best player there finds it difficult to play against his Takuma.

by the way, aside from few horrible ones, the arts look very nice.

Dude, I dont play a bunch of sucky players and base my opinion on there skill. I think you know me better then that.
That kind of view can be applied to any kind of character.
So pretty much any character can be unstoppable, etc.
He lost alot of his cross up ability.
Any tak user knows what he lost.

Any character can be played at high level. This has nothing to do with my original comment on 2002 tak sucking compared to past ones. Which I totally stand by.
His cross ups are nerfed in a ugly way.
I use tak's cross ups and tap chains whenever I have the chance. I shit you not, these are extremely useful competitively. You can do bastardized versions of them in 2002, yes. Yet, some VERY important follow ups have been completely erased.

What can those guys do? What stuff did they do? You say that to me and give no examples. So of course I've no idea what they can do.

Play some high level Takuma users from 98, 2000, 2001. You will see the difference.

This game might come and go a little too quickly.

Thats what I was thinking. This isn't reinsuring for the future of this or other series.
