Does Metal Slug X work through Phantom-1?

Hey fellas,

I tried to find a thread on this through the Search feature but it doesn't seem to be working, keep getting error messages. I wanted to buy Metal Slug X MVS from Shawn in NeoStore but I've heard conflicts from people who say it does work and others who say it doesn't. Can anyone confirm whether it's one or the other? Thanks!

It worked fine with my phantom (blue) when I had one. I sold my AES and phantom.

MSX is one of the sketchy games, some board revisions seem to have problems while others don't. Another title like this is Windjammers.

It works fine on my (blue) Phantom as well, as mentioned above, it seems to depend on board revision.

MSX works fine with the phantom-1. The only exception to this seems to be with NGH board model AES 3-6.

Open your NGH, (remove the metal plate if its US) and the model # should be on the far right edge of the motherboard.

Provided it does not say AES 3-6 you should be fine. I have an AES model 3-4 and it works fine.

So all MVS games work with the blue Phantom 1, and lower serial AES systems (besides SVC Chaos, Metal Slug 5, Neo print carts, and Irritating Maze)?

MSX and Garou gave me problems.

They both worked fine until I had my debug bios installed then they started gliching up on me.

Both of these carts are unique however in that they utilize unusual chip setups. MSX has a special security chip on it (I think) and Garou uses eproms.

MOTW works perfect on my AES, but Samurai Showdown 4 runs like shit. I know the cart isn't a boot, and I had it checked. I also have debug bios maybe things will change when I switch over to uni bios.

Also my AES serial is 036000, is this a bad serial for using the blue phantom 1?

My AES is a 3-4 model and it has a serial of 56,XXX, so you should be fine.

Just be advised that MSX worked fine in my system until I had the debug bios installed.

Eventually I just broke down and got the homecart :drool_2:

That Blue Phantom-1 convertor was a
son of a bitch! to put my MVS Carts &
would not work with newer games on
my Aes System. So I sold it on ebay for
$150.00 to someone in Italy. One piece
came off where you push the MVS Cart
with the Blue Phantom-1 convertor but
it still functioned really well too. :kekeke:
