US marines have agreed a framework plan to withdraw from the besieged Iraqi city of Falluja, says the local American military commander.

Just gonna say that its pretty impressive that we go in under the context of 'the Iraqis are too opressed to fight for their own independence' then we get there and they do a pretty good job of getting us to leave. So does this mean Iraq government was stronger than the US military or does it mean that maybe they happened to be content under their former ruler.

No way man...you don't even know the bottomless pit of evil that these guys draw their hate from...its so fucking obvious....the US military has been over there for the sole purpose of killing women and children....and BABIES...they especially like killing little babies...just ask Charlie Rangle....I mean, he's in Congress and he said thats what we're doing there...shit man I have no choice but to believe that...besides...its so obvious anyway, if you just open your eyes man...open your eyes to the truth and you will be enlightened...

But whats really happening now is that the US military machine finally killed all the babies in the city...mission accomplished...well we may return to the city after some geologic surveys uncover more oil for us to plunder...but let's not get to far ahead of ourselves....anyway like I said...its sooooo obvious man, I wish more people would just open their eyes to the truth...the pieces are all there for you to draw your own conclusion, but if you are one of the 'smart' ones you will see the light and will come to the only possible reality which I believe.

Nice try at blowing it out of proportion but fact is winning a battle is being able to NOT kill civilians.

Gunstar: The sad thing is I can't tell if you're being serious X_X

Well, I don't support Bush at all, but I do support the troops. That is, I want them to not get their ass mauled. But I also support the Iraqi people as well. I'm sorta happy they're withdrawing from Fallujah... their presence there just caused waaay too much trouble.

The problem is, now those radicals will claim they "defeated" the US... HUGE ego boost. I'm scared now -_-

Military strength is not the only disincentive to revolution.

You're right the other, as I mentioned, would be being content with the current political situation of the country.

I do not hate the US or any other country for that matter, I happen to love America.
I do hate GW and all he stands for.
Why do we seem unable to admit that we fucked up big time going into this, we all know it in our hearts. Even Bush does imho.

Thanks for saving me the trouble, brother :D.

Anyway, can someone please point to a source that says we're pulling out and surrendering the city? Everything that I've read points to negotiations breaking down - which means we'll be putting more military pressure on, rather than less.

Dead civies are a sad consequence of war - we knew that when we went in.
Or did we beleive it would be a push over.

Minimalizing civilian casualties is a must when these are the people you are trying to win the minds of. Trying to get them to think that we are there to liberate them while we blow them up is kind of counterproductive.

As the moral superpower we think we are we should be working a little harder at fighting a moral war.

FYI: The title of this thread makes you sound just a little on the resentful side. People who "love America" usually don't take pleasure in its military defeats. Then again, these are strange times.

It is possible to love America and be critical of her.

You're right. We should work harder. But to pretend that we're killing civilians on purpose, or that we're even not considering them when we make military strikes, is clearly not what the numbers show. If these slimebags wouldn't hide behind women and children in crowded cities, there wouldn't be nearly as many civilians casualties. I blame them for the majority of these deaths.

We have a disagreement on what the word critical means, I believe.

Pinning the blame on them using human shields is just weaseling out of the situation. They won't fight a traditional war. Just as say the Americans wouldn't fight a traditional war against the British. It pissed the British off to no end that we wouldn't line up on a battlefield and shoot volleys of bullets at each other. They're fighting a small arms, street to street, and close range fight. Yet we insist on trying to use bombs. We're simply trying to win the war, which I understand why. But an army well trained in street combat would be faring much better in limiting civilian deaths. Although there is a possibility that American casualties in this style of fighting may be higher.

Also your disagreement with my use of the word critical stems from your disagreement with my problems with America.
