I just want to know if they test those games and make sure they're working. Or are they all scratched up when you get them?

Meh, it looks ok. Nothing special, IMO.

What I really want to know is if these are scratched up games and eb didn't bother to check so they just want to get rid of them.

I would say that's a safe assumption. They're not known for their quality control regarding used titles.

eb is a soccer mom's paradise. they see a used game for $45, $5 below the cost of a new game and think "OH SHIT SAVINGS! and i dont even need a coupon!". they barely cater to the gamer and they most definately do not cater to the collector.

if you only want perfect labels then i would pass.

At that kind of price they are not going to be mint...if that’s what you’re asking. The games are probably being stored in huge bins...and otherwise being tossed around. It is getting difficult to find mint NES games complete with their box and manual.

What's funny is you don't get any more store credit for having the box and manual. So what's the point of even trading them in.

Are there any good stores that cater to the collector? I can think of a few stores that carry neo geo items, but I'm at loss when I try to think of some that carry collectibles like NES games, SMS, SNES, Genny, TG16, etc.

Anybody know of any good web-based stores that sell this type of thing?

This doesn't really excite me. I mean, aren't most used game store selling NES games for like $2 a piece, now? Besides, these are not going to complete or mint, I can assure you. It'll be the usual gunky cartridge with a torn label and "Andrew" or "Bob" scribbled on the back.

I'll stick with being a rom whore.

Almost all of those games you can get at Gamestop for 99 cents to $1.99.

Well said :)

As for this entire 15 for $50? No...nope...that's bull...half of the titles I see, you can dig up for $30 or less at a yard sale for all 15

Yep, most places will take any manuals or boxes you have and toss them out as soon as they get ready to put them on the shelf.

I have this strange feeling that you could buy all of those games in the condition they'll be selling them for $50.

If you look on EBAY for all of three minutes you can beat that deal, and honestly, if you STILL don't have the must-haves for that system you must not care all that much in the first place. So what else are you going to buy? Amagon? Dragon Power? I'll pass, thanks...

The roms are all well and good...

but theres just something about having the original classic in your hand and on your shelf... I like that...

and like the ones in my pix i'd only want complete carts/manual/boxes.
