There was an interesting conversation going on in it and when I jump to the next page.. POOF! It's gone..

What gives?

I didn't see anything in there particularly offensive or in violation of forum rules.

No that was EW doing me a favor I asked of him. If you must know it was me asking him to ban a specific IP for me. Now I can't browse/post on the forums from work and I'm happy.

That's it, the whole pussy ass mod deleting the ROMZ Poll Thread (which was awesome) is a bit bitchy. Personally I don't think it was EW who did it, but rather I think it was a couple of bitches who were pissed that now we have more ROM users than haters on this site that complained and that was it.

I think I'm going to go play some ROMZ now. No really, I am.

Wasn't me either, but I could imagine someone wasn't too happy about a main topic on RomZZs being discussed on a site funded by the sale of legit software.

Maybe it was Gumby?

At first JHendrix, I apologise for suspecting you/EW for deleting the thread and for my harsh reply in your War Room thread. Sometimes I should practise what I preach and think before posting.

@ D-Lite: RomZ threads never were a problem thus far, we had quite a lot of them in the past two or three years and only a few of them (with links to roms in them) got deleted. Yes, some of them were really burnin' with flames and stuff, that's why I'm even more surprised that the romz poll had to go because it wasn't a flame fest at all.

Jimi's poll kicked off a GOOD discussion, at least IMO, and last time I checked before it went away, there was no inappropriate content in it, no links, nothing, just ppl expressing their opinions. It's neither fair nor does it make sense to erase threads like that.

Okay, the Xbocks hype is a bit much lately, but hey, you can't convince ppl to stop it anyway.

I'd really like to know who did it, and why.

I vaguely remember the poll, I don't know why it was axed

I never would've suspected that that thread would get axed. I didn't think it was all that big of a deal either, but I don't really care about teh romz one way or the other. It is strange though. The mystery lingers on .....

Despite being a ROM thread, it had interesting discussion in it. I mean, considering how many other ROM threads don't get axed, this is just a shame.

I could really care less about ROM-Love or ROM-hate.. take it or leave it.

I'm kinda pissed because there was a great fucking discussion going on in there outside of the one or two people espousing their rhetoric and opinions

It's like gambling or hookers, they're always going to be around and they'll be the seedy side of the "legit community".

It was probably a few members bitching with their standard "romz are bad...mmmkay" crap that forced the deletion. If you're going to wipe certain romz threads off the site, I really think that was the last one that should've been axed.

It's a rhetorical question at this point, the mods won't say anything and this thread is probably going to degrade into more crap should it continue.

Oh well, a good thread goes down..

Heh I didn't even notice you replied to that thing in the War Room till now. :p

I didn't really realize that it would co-inside w/ the deleting of the thread, and people thought that's what happened.

Question, why would you think that I'd ask for my own thread to be deleted? :loco:

I really just think that some people bitched about the discussion because we were being way too civil. Plus w/ the Neo dying a lot of people aren't going to feel so bad about pirating the games (lets not mince words, ROMZ = Piracy, cept no one holding the copyrights really cares enough to do something about it).

Plus look how many people are now getting modded XBox's for this stuff, even long time anti ROMZ people are into it now. I'm sure that's upsetting some people.

Well, uhm, as I said, sometimes it pays off in the end to post with your brain switched to on...

Good argument.. "too civil"... yeah, I think I know what you mean... in the old days most long-time members used to have a much deeper aversion against roms and now the thread got canned because even some of those long-timers are into modded 'bockses now...

Makes sense.

Anyway, deleting interesting threads without reason (or as a result to a few members bitching away) sucks.... there are about 9023847986837456 other threads that would deserve to be deleted, but noooo...

I like all you guys, but stop being such bitchy faggots. Roms are lame and it boggles the mind how so many of you here can dedicate 75% of your time on a website that solely supports a hobby that you don't even support yourself. Eat a dick, yadda yadda yadda, good day.

I've seen JHendrix's collection in person, as he has seen mine.... along with a few other people who posted in that thread... My point? Most people are not STRICTLY Rom users who leeches shit for free. For me? It saves me time from going downstairs, to my storage space or wherever and let's me play people online or on the go.

JHEndrix hosts shock box inserts, did some shock box work and has a nice website dedicated to neo stuff.

I don't know what you could say nice about me supporting the hobby or whatever, but I've probably bought, collected and sold more neo stuff that 75% of the people here.

Nice try, but your argument just doesn't work.

But really, what percentage of the ROM users here actually have Neo stuff? Msot of them are leechers.

But back to the topic...

Has anyone considered the possibility of a database error? While I'm not sure the liklihood on an SQL-based board, on flat file boards I've seen a lot of threads dropped...

Just a thought since its deletion just seems so odd...

yadda yadda indeed.

Don't put me on rom whore level, mate, m'kay?

I've posted in that thread to keep a nice discussion going because I'm interested in exchanging views, not to go on my little crusade against rommies, which is useless anyway because those ppl neither listen to you because you're Neo fan enough to support and even collect an obscure Neo racing game that more than 80% of all gamers find almost unplayable, nor do they listen to me because I spend crazy amounts of time trying to dissect every tiny and useless feature of Neo fighting and shooting games and then go and write lengthy posts about it.

If anything, discussing things like pro/contra romz in a civil way is more helpful to get the point across than mindlessly bashing on others, or calling the mods to nuke a good thread about the issue.
