I am assuming someone has it already. I was wondering if you can use your own TV as a monitor. I know it's possible for Hyper 64 and all but is it possible for Atomiswave too if I have the right controller for it?

Also, what other arcade games can be played like that?

Wait... you're serious. I think the Neo looks like ass on a regular television compared to the arcade monitor it was born on.

I think he was refering to a PC monitor, which is more than a little different from an arcade monitor...

Anyway I personally think the AtomisWave looks better on the PC monitor, but it could vary from game to game. I only have Dolphin Blue.

A monitor will make anything look cleaner, crisper and sharper, even Television.

The average Monitor will always give of better picture quality than an average TV because of the resolution.
Than again the better the TV, the more debatable that topic.
But the better the TV the more expensive.

I had mine hooked up to my 26 inch Widescreen HD LCD TV through a MAS SuperNova and it looked awesome!

Atomiswave in Super Neo 29 cab????

I have the Super Neo 29 cabinet with the 4 slot MVS board in it now....

Will I be able to run the Atomixwave board in there? I noticed on KLOV that some of the games are different resolutions. Will my monitor work with a medium res game?

Thanks!

i understand that pc monitor gives far better picture quality and resolution

however playing 2D games... it looks rubbish on a monitor... i don't know why
3D games are good on monitor....

I run it on a 42 inch cab that supports high-res. The picture and size is phenomenal.

It's similar to the dremacast....

The games look good on a TV/Low Res monitor but beautiful on a computer monitor....

The 2-d games use high res sprites (Unsure about neowave tho) so they don't look pixelated on the monitor (LIke MVC, CVS)

and yes, the neo does look like ass on a PC monitor...... at least with every method I have ever tried.....

Anyone know if the Atomiswave will work in the Super Neo 29 cab? I dont want to get it and have it not work with the monitor. Does the Atomiswave need a certain res monitor?

It's supposed to work with standard resolution monitors and higher resolution ones.

There is a switch on the board that you use to change the settings.

What about the connector....Will it work with an existing MVS system connector or does it need to be a standard JAMMA connector?

Also...did anyone make a convertor that you could plug a MVS harness into so that it could be used on a JAMMA board? I Was thinking how cool that would be if there was a small connector that could go between the MVS harness and a JAMMA board that converted the wires over correctly. (if that is possible)

Thanks!!

well bill,

the only difference is the test swich location and the sound... you can easily install a stereo/mono switch on the harness.... For test mode, i just press dip#1 down and restart...

Thanks!

Any info on how to make that switch for the audio?

So other than the the MVS and jamma are the same? Just the audio is different and the test switch to bring up the config menus.
