take a look at my sig. I admit I'm a hor for this game. When I wasn't working and had nothing better to do, It wouldn't be unusual for me to be up until 4am-5am playing. Now that I'm working again, that's a different story (I'll still be playing on the weekends).
One prerequiste about MMORPGs is: You absolutely CAN'T have any life whatsoever if you want to get into them and get your $$s worth. If you have girlfriends, serious job committments, et al, forget it and go play fighters 1/2 hour/ day. These games take SERIOUS patience, time, and effort, but are very rewarding if your into these kinds of games. Oddly enough, I know of SEVERAL people who play the game with their wives and girlfriends online, so the lonely geeky gamer stereotype doesn't always hold.
To Feelgood - I agree - the LVL grind is gay as fuck. I get bored of it after a few hours - however if you have a good crew around that works well together and likes to talk and joke around, it's a TON of fun. When that gets stale, there's tons of other things to do in the game - craft items and armor out of raw materials you get from killing monsters and "farm" for those items (hunt specific monsters for specific items), do quests and missions for computer controlled players, or you can go for a relaxing evening of "fishing."
And that doesn't include playing the markets - trading money for items and weapons with other players either though the open bazaar or though the Auction House - you know how fun using ebay is, right? Well this is close to the same thing, only your not risking your real $$, just play time. Jr. Economists could have a field day with this feature alone!
It's too bad you have to dive in head-first to play games like these; once you buy them, you are pretty much committed - they're not anything you can really demo at a friend's house or a game store.
Now if they'd only do a Shadowrun/Cyberpunk game like this online for consoles I wouldn't leave the house! (Did they with Anarcy Online?)
