I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm getting major lag because of all the smilies on the side. I know somebody suggested the idea before that they should be in a pop-up window instead and I agree with that.

My message box is a different size every time I use it...(this time I can see 4 smilies)...most of the time I can see 8 smilies, and only 1 time have I seen the entire smiley box....

While most of the time I can see 8 smilies, each time strangely enough, it's 8 different ones...never the same selection....so I got

yea. I usually minimize the window to where I can just see the text window.
the smilies do kinda make my home computer lag, and at work it's just annoying.
I know some boards have a button that you press then a smilie pop up java window
comes up and you chose from there, like the java prompts for inserting an image
or something.

I've had the same damn problem -and I use a fairly fast computer and very fast internet connection.

the only way you can stop the lag is by pressing the "stop" function at the top so the little bastards stop animating.

I don't know why they didn't do that on the last version, but I'd like to think there's a way to stop them this time. I'm stickying this thread since its such an annoyance (probably for more people than have posted here).

Sounds like a good idea. Although I don't get any lag, half of the smilies aren't selectable when I use my preferred browser, so a pop-up window with them would be nice.

I use Mozilla browser and I don't see complete smilies box....

then yes, add a pop-up page with smiles!!
