galfordo said:Are you talking about hooking the NGH up to a computer monitor or something?
Anyway, I think the monitor just has to be capable of displaying 15 kHz horizontal refresh rate and has to support the native resolution of the NGH. Also, you'd need to build your own cables and all that stuff.

galfordo said:well, first you're ignorant and now you're a know-it-all.
Visit www.gamesx.com for all things concerning video in/output for your gaming needs. Read their video primer and RGB primer for all the information you are going to need. As galfordo said, the VGA monitor you are going to need to use will have to have 15 kHz horizontal refresh rate, so you can try the old Commodore, Atrai ST, and NEC Multisync monitors. For full specs visit www.monitorworld.com. If you want to hook up your NEO GEO to a more current monitor or to your HDTV via VGA, you are going to need an upscan converter to go from 15 kHz to 30 kHz. Tiptonium at his website www.tiptonium.com has an excellent review for the Micomsoft XRGB-2+ upscan converter, which can upscan to VGA for any of your system via JPN SCART connection or your reguler VGA connection. I know www.ncsx.com sells new ones for a little more than $200.xtoo_short20x said:Could this be possible?
Sorry for my ignorance on this kind of topic but I know nothing regarding this
kind of thing.
xtoo_short20x said:How about on a RGB monitor like this one:

Do I just need the RGB cable, and then plug & play?
Big Shady said:Except you are going to need to build your own RGB cable for an NTSC tv.
xtoo_short20x said:So what is the official Neo•Geo cable good for?
MKL said:Apparently, the official cable is compatible with japanese monitors that have a 21 pin socket (which is NOT scart despite the identical shape). The XRGB+ also has that socket, so you could hook your Neo up to a VGA monitor without having to build a custom cable. Very simple.
Loopz said:Neo*Geo on a VGA monitor with an X-RGB2+ is utterly fucking sweet man.
It was the best set-up I've owned thus far.
Turn on the scanlines on the X-RGB2+ unit and you'll be knocked on your ass.
Just as nice as a fresh cabinet man.
galfordo said:What size monitor are you going for? I just can't see playing it on anything smaller than a 25", that's my only problem with this setup.
Excellent, let us know how it goes. Just make sure you have the JPN 21-pin connecter cable and not a EURO SCART cable, the XRGB2+ doesn't accept any EURO scart cables.xtoo_short20x said:I actually like small monitors/tv's. I don't like the anything bigger than 27" since
the image gets distorted IMO. Tomorrow I will start searching around bestbuy,
circuit city, and maybe SonyStyle tonight for a nice VGA monitor. I will most
probably get something in the 24" - 27" inch range.
