KOF 2002/2003 and Metal Slug 4/5 Combo packs coming to PS2!!!

of Four Great Arcade Games for the PlayStation®2

WALL, NJ. – April 21, 2004 – SNK NEOGEO USA CONSUMER CORPORATION announced
today that they will be publishing a series of special game combination
packs for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system – two of SNK’s
classic arcade titles in one DVD case. Each combination pack will have an
MSRP of $39.99.

The classic SNK franchises, THE KING OF FIGHTERS and METAL SLUG, will be
launched during the second half of 2004 and the first half of 2005. THE KING
OF FIGHTERS 2002 & 2003 will ship in Winter 2004, and the popular METAL SLUG
4 & 5 Combo will follow in Spring 2005. Each of these game combos feature
full versions of each game.

They´re doing this so the games can get on PS2. Sony would not accept them as singles.

YEAH!!! Finally MS series gets releases for PS2 and KOF 2k2 and 2k3? That's just awesome. now I don't have to buy imports which'll cost me close to $70 for just one game... KOF2k2 PS2 port was pretty good except the loading time. I wonder how graphics and sound will change on those ports. but late 2004 or early 2005? man I can't wait...

Sweet! I was hoping that these games would get a release like this for ps2 in the US... Wonder if we will see SVC in the US on PS2 somehow now...

Thank goodness they finally decided to do what many of us were saying back in December/January that they should do to get a PS2 release. I can't help but wonder if this will cut into their X-Box sales though. It seems like it would have been more prudent to make this announcement after the relevent games were released on X-Box.

With any luck there won't be any censorship, but I'm not going to hold my breath. Even if there is, I've got my uncensored import PS version of SS4 and DC KOF 2002 to fall back on.

Yes, 'twould definitely be nice to see these beauties on the XBox, as well. I don't want to go out and buy a PlayStation 2 just for Metal Slug 4 & Metal Slug 5, but if I gotta, I gotta!

Now, all I need is a domestic version of the PS2 port of Samurai Showdown 5, and I''ll be set. I'm assuming that if SNKP does a PS2 port of SS5 Special, and bundles the two, that it might happen...
And SuperMegaUltra, don't buy a PS2 just for the Metal Slug pack if you don't want to. Buy a PS2 just for Gran Turismo 4.

If it has every Neo Geo game, every Hyper Neo 64 game, and every pre-Neo game, AND it has a Namco Museum-style "history of SNK" presentation... then I'll take two, please...
