Increase the Avatar Size

Am I the only one who finds 64 x 64 pixels too small for a avatar? Why not 100 x 100 pixels? It'll make the avatars look better. Almost every forum on the net have supports 100 x 100 pixels. Why not this one?

Bigger Avatar sizes would be GREAT. It took forever to get my custom avatar of Grey Fox from Metal Gear II: Solid Snake down to it's current size without losing too much clarity. Most of the time pics I have that I have to downsize lose their clarity by the time it's where it'll be accepted by the forum standard. What's wrong with having an avatar that's about

It's not nearly as big as I've seen others and but not too damn small either. Around that size avatars would be kewl as fuck. Granted we have to use whatever we're allowed to use, but since this is the Suggestion area I'm jumping on the long needed wagon for the further proliferation towards bigger avatars.

that's (except for the thing about the baby) what i thought, when i read this thread for the first time. been too lazy to type anything, though ...

this is NOT - and hopefully never will be - sc.com.
if i had axx to the judge account, the first thing i'd do would be axing each and every sig that's bigger than 500 x 175 pixels and/or 100kb.

I would like to see the av size bumped up to either 80x80 or 100x100 at the most.

Then have some type of check in place for assholes that have huge sigs (both dimensions and file size wise). We don't need mini-movies for sigs.

Clownboats that want a buncha images in their sig can always do like I do and use a perl script to rotate through them.

no, it's one of the reason I like this place.
keeping the graphics minimal. though I do like the avatars.
it's a good way of identifying people, which was a fuck fest
with all the people running around with mitch avas.
and while we're at it can we somehow minimize the smilies
into some smilie menu pop up window or something.
I'm not sure if that's even a legit gripe but yea.
that's about it.

Allowing for larger avatars seems slightly inconsiderate for 56K users, and I really agree with SG79 on enforcing a size limit for sigs. I think enabling custom titles would be a decent way to personalize your account without adding to anymore clutter on the forum. I mean even if my cable modem makes this forum load like a breeze, there's a 56K user crying somewhere everytime his connection struggles to load what some of the graphics whores on here keep in their sigs.

How would it make it more cluttered though?
It won't increase the width of the miniprofile column, and it won't add any height to it either, since half of us have huge sigs anyways.

Uniformized sizes are what should stay.
I have seen many other forums sites with diferent sized avatars and they look like ass.

These forums are currently my favorite in terms of aestheticism, and they are more than fine like that way.

I use 56K and I never had a problem with it.

I'm not saying that all the avatars should be 100 x 100 pixels. 100x 100 should just be the maximum size.

Do not expect avatar size to change. Keeps the site clean and helps compensate for the ridiculous sigs people have. A limit on sig size is somewhat in effect, but there really has to be a complaint to enforce it.

Now you see if avatars were all about this size I think that be the perfect compromise. I'd rather have a bitchin' avatar with clarity than a super huge sig anyhow... and I go out of my way to size down my sigs so they aren't Gigantor Sized Adverts unlike others who seem to get off to GIANT sig pics. I'm on 56K Dial Up and have never had a problem with any pic unless it's the size of the screen forcing me to scrool endlessly to the right.

...somehow I think we're stuck with the little avatars though.
