I remember GMR giving it 3rd best fighter of all time.

I didnt really think their list was all that great but SSII does rule.

I got the original today just because I always liked that game but I think it'll just sit around as a sentimental thing. I cant go back to it after SSII.

I dont see many Samurai Shodown topics so why not make one right?

Yes Covenent Elite, Samurai Shodown 2 is indeed a great game. It's the reason why a lot of the people here got into the Neo Geo in the first place.

Actually, there are probably lots and lots of threads about Samurai Shodown 2 (and SS3 and SS4, and even SS1) being a good game. There are threads about it in this forum, and the Gameplay forums as well... I can feel Orochi burning in me... must... not get... must stay polite ...if you use the search function you can probably find them.

Because it's such an old game though.. no... ooooroochii anger burning... ...an... old game though, we've already burning in meeee... ooorroochii we've already talked about it quite... quite... a losing control... ooorooochi...

I've got quite a few MVS games now, and I'm just now going back to SS2 and thinking "wow". I put it in... hell, don't even know why I put it in. It's been in my four slot for over three weeks now. Great game.

But yeah, we already knew that. Do a search, you'll find TONS and tons of stuff on it already.

Yep. Sam Sho 2 is maybe my favorite fighter of all time, and the real reason I got sucked into the Neo early on.

And I don't care if there's another thread about it - it totally deserves all the threads it gets.

If your feelings get hurt that easily, then you are posting in the wrong forum, my friend. Relax, you wanted to make a good point and sort of did. You have to understand that this subject has come up a billion times already. Nothing wrong with posting the obvious.

I have a feeling that if somebody with a high post count or had been around for a long time had posted that very same thing, they wouldn't have been attacked the same way. Sad but true.

ANYHOW, stick around. We need people that are gamers here. Just relax and play some SS2. ;)

Well let's see...This IS a Neo-Geo board and Samurai Showdown 2 is one of THE games to own. It's regarded as one of the best fighters ever made. So you felt like you had to go and make a thread on how you like it so much?

I agree that samurai shodown 2 is a great game and in my opinion the best game to come from SNK

others may disagree with newer games that have been released but at the time, nothing touched this game.

I still think it's in a league of it's own. Sure, there are other games with more moves, and tons of new features, but the gameplay of SS 2 still has yet to be replicated. Well, I haven't played Sam Sho V yet, but I find it hard to believe that it tops 2.

Have you ever bought a game and been so excited you just wanted to tell someone how much you like it? At least this noob plays his games. I'd rather see topics like this than stuff like "Can I play a Jap game in a US Neo?"

I'll make sure to post about all the new games coming out on Neo Geo. It does get about 9 games released a week right?

Or does this board not like hearing about games so we just sit here and look at our games?

I will also invent a time machine so I can buy a Neo Geo in 1991. I didn't know that new Neo Geo owners are the scum of this board.

Great Post

Samurai Shodown II was a great game. More companies need to think as creatively as they did :envy: I think it was one of the first games to have gameplay zoom in and out on the characters. The controls handled great. Can anyone else think about why they loved this game?

Actually, I think SNK had been doing the zoom thing for a few years before they did it with Sam Sho 2 (although I think it was done particularly well with SS2). Art of Fighting and Fatal Fury were some of the first Neo games to use the zoom feature, if I'm not mistaken.
