Hello,
I just bought a MOTW AES JP off of eBay, and it seems normal, but I got a slight itchy feeling, so I wanted ask here about it as I know someone here must know.
Firstly, the insert appears real, the manual also seems normal, as do the stickers on the cart, although the main sticker (it also has the yellow warning sticker) is a little off, and overlaps the bottom of the sticker indent on the case.
Secondly, when lookinh insode the cart through the grills on the back, I can just make out that the chips appear vertical, on my KoF '02 and FF3 they are horizontal, plus, through the right-hand grill I can see atleats one of the chips has some kind of sticker on it, I can see what appears to be a '2' but no further down.
I dont really want to open the cart as I am sure i'll bust it.
Lastly, when turingn on the game, after the 'giga-power' screen, I see a message in the middle of the screen like 'mvs 4 slot test' or something very like that.
For reference, I have a debug bios installed.

If anyone can tell me for sure one way or the other i'd be very gratefull.
If needed I can provide pics.

Well off center stickers do happen since they placed by hand. I'm exactly sure what is up with the chip placement you are talking about though. The 4-slot MVS test happens because of your debug BIOS. If you could get some pics, it would be most helpful.

I don't think I've ever seen a converted Garou, the chip orientation is nothing big, different boards go different ways. The stickers is also nothing much to worry about. I would be very very surprised if it was a conversion.

HAHA, well you have a reason to be paranoid. MOTW are really getting up there in price and people might started making conversions to cash in. I'm glad your cart is a legit one, though. Happy gaming :)

I just wonder why if someone was going to go through the trouble to make a Conversion, why they would bother to make it a JP one... when the US one is much more highly desired... That would just be strange to me.

Don't worry man, it's original for sure.

So you're from Vantaa, uh? There aren't many suomalaisen people around here (did I spell that right?). I have lived in Turku for two years so I carry a bit of Finland in my heart heheheh.

I just wanted to be sure was all, I come here and read so much about conversions and bootlegs, when you are paying the ammounts that Neo carts go for it would be stupid not to check up on any little thing that bugs you.
But anyways, I am sort of a newb, so that's another reason.

Lovecraft0110 > I'm English :D but I moved to Finland in July '98 'cause I have a Finnish wife :drool_2:

Wow, you seem to think you can sound intelligent or humurous by saying something arbitrary about a popular topic of flaming(myself)...

I've had both authentic JP and US Garou's (Bought from the neostore) so I feel I have as much right to comment/speculate as anyone.

For a veternarian that doesn't sound very intellectual.. BTW that box is probably 1 FT by 2 FT... I'd have to be the smallest "little person" in the world to fit in there...

Go troll somewhere else.
