Back in the time, some old members were discussing the fact that to state that a game is "RARe" or EXTRA RARE we should know the productions numbers for that game.
I replied that we go by our experience and in YEARS of neo collecting we can well know the rairyt of certain titles, letting aside the "numbers".

Now,there is a guy in the wanted section who is trying to trade his Metal slug % US classic home cart for a ninja Master's home cart.
Numbers are for sure on his side, metal slug 5 US carts are under 200 production run for sure...BUT..he is totally out ot the right way asking for that trade.
Infact, the rarity of Ninja Master US home cart is way more than MS 5US home cart, classic or not.
Let's say Ninja master carts were made in bigger numbers than MS 5 US home carts and let's admit it may be true.
Anyway, the numbers of Ninja Masters US home cart in the martket now is ultra tiny and there is no comparison with a title all neo geo collectors bought and more important of other things, keep with extreme care since thye know it is rare.

In other words, numbers are nothing compared to experience.
Will be ALWAYS easier to find a MS 5 US home cart than a Ninja Master US home cart:MS 5 carts are in hands of well known collectors and gamers and can be tracked down...most of ninja masters US home carts are gone for good.

I agree totally. Your item is only worth as much as someone else is willing to pay for it. You can mark your game/etc.."Rare" even if it isn't and someone out there will think it is but to the trained eye and the intelligent/resourceful person its only worth what there willing to pay. I don't think you can compare the rarity of a new game w/ an old game simply because you don't have the facts of how many of the older game exist, not anymore anyway. Good oberservation FTL.

very true. It's all about availability - production numbers mean nothing if all of the copies have vanished over the years.
