Metal Slug 3 for PS2 ?!?!?!?!!?!!?

Thanks guys. I made it myself. So only the Japanese version exists? Damnit! Why does Japan always get all the good stuff! I don't suppose they're are any places online that rent import games like Gamefly eh?
get the import version for PS2. you don't need to read anything in english on that game, just run and shoot!
and for those who think that getting the X-Box version simply because of "Live" support is a good reason, you need to understand two things:
1) Metal Slug was never made to be "online".
2) anyone who wants to waste time and money playing "online" needs to go out and get some friends.
oh well, i guess i can't complain. i'm old school......we used to just go crash at a friend's house and take turns playing. now everyone wants to sit in their underwear, scratch their balls, and play online. it's sad really and it takes the fun out of it.
anyway, get the PS2 import--i've had it for nearly a year--WELL worth the money. screw US games! (i'm part Japanese so i can get it translated from my grandmother if need be). 75% of all games i own are Japanese. same price, better games, and loads more fun.
and for those who think that getting the X-Box version simply because of "Live" support is a good reason, you need to understand two things:

Oh, the PS2 port of Slug 3 is wonderful. I have the homecat as well, and the Ps2 version is 99% perfect. Plus, the extras are fun!

there's nothing more fun than cutting open your PS2 and modding it to do the swap for your imports.......like a kid in a candy store! it's the only thing the PS2 is good for!

he's simply stating that MOST US ports of Neo Geo games (Metal Slug X and some fighters) have all been censored.....the blood was white. i tend to think that it could be censored, but who knows. if not, cool. but from what i've seen, i wouldn't jump on it until i knew if it were hacked up or not.
sure there are more violent games that have been put out in the US, BUT for X-Box consumers, they won't try to sell this game at a Mature rated level. sure, people like us might pick it up, but they want to target NEW audiences with it, including younger kids. if it's rated Mature, half won't be able to buy it. so it's possible they'd cut some blood out to insure a Teen rating (or whatever the hell the ratings are now).
i hate ANY censored games coming into the US. LAND OF THE FREE MY ASS!

I used to buy JPN version but now I have to check price first before I make any game purchase.
US version is always cheaper than JPN one.
I'll buy JPN ONLY if :
- Alter the cover art (if I really can't stand US cover)
- price drops (such as clearance sales)
- No US release

Yeah, I have SVC for both AES and PS2, and dare I say the PS2 version is better? Yep, it is folks. Sorry, but it's the same game as the AES, only with fixed control, high res, smoother graphics (or not is you like), and some nice 2D effects.
Yep, I hear ya: if you want fighters and Shooters, you for sure need to go Japanese.
If this is uncensored (even though there's no sign it is), it would rock! Not only because its Metal Slug, it would also mean that when KOF2002 and SVC:Chaos come out, they won't be censored either!!

i just don't see what the big deal is about online play OR online scoreboards. like i care who sees what score i get....it's a game that i like to play because it's fun and i enjoy it. NOT to get in a pissing contest about who has a better score. if you do, good for you.....but it's not the highlight of one's life.
and for those thinking the X-Box version won't be censored, don't hold your breath until you see it. you would think that a game like that won't be, but it has been in the past and it very well could be......again i state, the folks at Microsoft (X-Box) will not want the game to come out with a Mature rating. they would want as many new consumers to jump in and enjoy this--and knowing the growing amount of young adults that are now finding their way to Neo Geo and it's great games, i see them wanting to keep this rating at a Teen-related level, so more people can buy it. it's all marketing.....in the end it's all about the money.

if not, go import.
and it's not a guarantee that KOF 2002 and SVC Chaos won't be censored simply because Metal Slug 3 may not be. there's always a possibility.
one would hope that they aren't, but if so, don't say i didn't warn you when you pick it up to find out it is.
they've censored bounce and blood numerous times in the past and it's possible it could happen again.

Yep, I also love shooters, and was also thinking about picking up Do Don Pachi Dou-Jao since I have a v9 PS2 with a DMS3 modchip.

I think that game is out for that old black console, with the big cartridges..... what the hell was the name of that console?

It will come to me.
Anyway, just look on ebay under classic, dont sell them anymore, you cant afford it anyway, obsolete video game systems, and you will find them for sure.
Prepare to split your wallet like you split your watermelons!
