Juggling in 2D fighting games has always really alluded me, or maybe I have the wrong view about it. I've been playing ALOT KOF00 lately, and there seems to be juggle potential in the game. I lift my opponent in the air, but I get only one stinking hit will they are helpless in the air. I am so use to juggling in 3D, which is much easier with teh floats, but in 2D I feel so n00bish. I am expecting too many hits?

Yeah, it seems a slow day in general here. I haven't really gotten beyond where you're at now juggling in KOF, but have you tried AOF3? You can juggle all day long in that game. It's insane.

The juggling i KOF doesn´t work like in a 3D-fighter, it does that in AOF3 like sounthtownkid said.

For the most part you´ll have the chance to nail a DM/SDM, a special or a jumping attack. Some of the most know examples of this are Kyos juggle which have been around for awhile.

qcf+D, D > qcb,hcf+P

In Kof 2001 thought, you can expand it by supercanceling the hcb+B-move. Also in 2002 if you´re in max mode.

qcf+D,D > hcb+B > qcb,hcf+P

You saidyou were playing 00, which makes this alot more interresting. The strikers in 2000 are very important, the can keep you opponent in the air as well as lifting the up fromn the ground in some cases. Here is an example with Lin, Ryo as striker.

dp+C, call ryo as the move is about to end, repeat until you don´t have any more striker bombs > DM

Must be done in corner thought.
There´s much to learn about juggling, especially in the parts with strikers. I would say that i´m still a newb in that department.

here's a kusanagi juggle for 2k2:

corner- qcf+D,D -> b,d,df+B -> f,d,df+A

it a bit tricky to pull off though, but it works

Kyo 2002 Corner:

jD, sC, QCF+KK, HCB+B, QCF+KK, DP+P

In KOF the juggles are way more controlled than 3D where a slght hit can lead to juggles.

Here's a good striker combo for Ryo in 2000

close C, f, b, f + C, call Robert

as I recall, it's kind of a juggle. To get it to work, your opponent should still be flying away from you after the f, b, f + C. Call Robert before your opponent hits the ground. It's like 20 hits or something. Also, I think you can end it with a f, hcf + A / C if you get the timing right.

I got this, plus a buncha other KOF2000 striker combos, at GameFAQ's.

There are a lot of near-corner/corner juggles in KoF, most of them are very controllable and quite simple. Here are some that I use:

Kensou (>= KoF99): qcf+K -> hcf+C

Terry (>= KoF97): close sC (cancel 2nd) -> f+A (2 hits) -> hcf+B -> dp+C

Kasumi (KoF2k): (corner) jB -> sC -> f+A (cancel 2nd) -> close hcb+C -> qcb+D

Robert (2k): b+A -> dp+C (or sB, sD, d+C, jC, etc.)

Robert (2k1): sC -> close hcb+D -> qcf x2+C (a useful and easy combo off of his standing C involving Robert's Critical Wire Attack (close hcb+K). 11 hits, 1 stock.)

Takuma (almost any Kof except 2k2, it's really Tak b&b): jD, start charging db while jumping -> sC -> f+D -> f,b,f+C

Kim (2k, 2k1): jB -> sB (2 hits) -> qcf x2+D, start charging d -> u+B

Andy (>= KoF97): jB -> sC (cancel 2nd) -> close hcf+C -> qcb,db,f+D (or dp+C, jumping B/C/D, etc. If you do this near-corner or in corner and use the SDM version of Andy's Choureppa Dan DM, you will get 21+ hits.)

More of the same:

Joe (98, should work in the sequels as well): jC -> sA -> tap A rapidly, finish with qcf+C at the 7th rush hit -> standing C

May Lee (2k1, near/corner): change stance (ABC) to Hero Mode -> cC -> hold u -> qcf x2+C

It's not as difficult as it seems at first - the trick is to start holding the stick up as soon as your opponent floats in midair and IMMEDIATELY input the qcf x2+C when she takes off.

Another May Lee juggle:

change stance (ABC) to Hero Mode -> cC -> change stance (ABC) to Standard Mode -> qcf+K (use D version if your opponent is not near a corner.)

The Hero Mode crouching C is a very easy and efficient juggle starter, you can follow it up with almost any standing normal attack and many specials

May Lee has more juggles, some of them are very tricky.
