What are the best NEO-GEO fighting games????

I am wondering what the best fighting games are that I don't already have I like all but one of them so far, World Heroes 2 jet, that game is really lame (really bad Street Fighter 2 rip off in my opinion). Here is my current NEO-GEO fighting game list:

Samuria Shodown 1-5 =all cool, wish 5 was 5 special to begin with
Fatul Fury 3 =cool and got it for delivering a pizza to a buddy!
Real Bout Fatul Fury 2 =really cool but broke might be dirty?
King of Fighters 94, 96, 97, and 2000 =cool especially 2000
Rage of the Dragons =cool and got full kit for $45 w/shipping!
Garou Mark of the Wolves =Super cool, wish it had more guys..

What other KOF's are super cool, all of them?
Is Last Blade 1 worth getting if I plan on getting LB2?
Kizuna Encounter?
Matrilmilee?
Art of Fighting 2 or 3? I played 1 and was unimpressed.
SVC chaos? is it worth the $199+???
Others???

I am also interested in what non-fighting games are worth getting too. so far I only have League Bowling and Metal Slug.

P.S. WHERE ARE THE NEO-GEO MVS CABS AT IN MINNESOTA?????? None of the big chains around here are cool enough to have any, some don't even have Street Fighter machines!!!! That's fucked up, and I really hope that it isn't true that Capcom is done with Arcade gaming.

KoF 99 and 2k1 (fuck the haters) are both pretty cool, 2k2 is good if you want a new-school KoF that doesn't have strikers. 96 or 98 for old-school KoF.

LB1 is worth getting even if you get LB2, I prefer 1 to 2, but that's just me, IMO there is enough of a difference between the two to warrant purchasing both (if you can buy multiple KoFs why not both LBs).

I haven't played Kizuna or Matrimelee.

Art of Fighting 3 is definately worthwhile, vast improvement on 1 and 2, too bad the characters are kinda meh. In the character department AoF2 was the best. But gameplay is the most important aspect of a game and AoF3 blows away the other two as far as I'm concerned.

SvC Chaos isn't worth $200, wait for a price drop or buy it second-hand.

For other fighters I'd check out Rage of the Dragons. It's good, cheap, simple fun. The Real Bout Fatal Fury series is definately worth checking out as well.

For non-fighters I recommend: Bust-A-Move Again (Puzzle Bobble 2) and Magical Drop 3 for puzzlers. Blazing Star and Shock Troopers for shooters. And for platformers I'd say get Magician Lord and Top Hunter. Then there are the genre-benders/miscellaneous titles and I'd say your best bet out of all of those is Crossed Swords.

Get KOF 97 & 98. I would not worry about getting Last Blade 1 if I were planing to get Last Blade 2. AOF 3 is awesome...get it!

KOF2003 is super dooper................

I haven't played kof '01 yet, but I'm trying to find it for a good price and it will probably be my next purchase. I have watched a lot of vids of this game and it looks awesome to me, there are a ton of videos at cyberfanatics I would check out the vids for any of the games you're interested in there. I can't bust out the kinds of insane combos they do but some day I will. Make sure to check out the SVC Chaos video "junction", trust me after watching it you will want to spend $200 on the kit at www.arcadeshock.com I know I want to splurge on it, but I can't until I get my cab. I would definitely recommend that you do get Last Blade 1, whatever else you decide to get. LB2 is really cool and all, but I think LB1 has tighter gameplay. The controls just seem more responsive to me. I think they're both worth getting.

Definitely get KOF '98, motw, Real Bout Special and/or RB2, the slugs (particularly 1, 2, x, and 3), Sam Sho 1-4 (can't comment on 5), and maybe try to grab a shooter or two (Strikers 1945+, Pulstar if you're a masochist, and Blazing Star). Oh, and grab Neo Turfmasters too, and perhaps League Bowling and Baseball Stars 2.

Those should keep you entertained for the rest of your life, and possibly into the afterlife. kthnxbye.

First off, let me voice the difference of opinion.


1) AoF2 is an excellent game. Every Neo owner needs to own this.


2) The Samurai Shodown series is utter garbage.


3) I'm seriously not joking about either of the previous two statements.


However, I'd also recommend:

Fatal Fury Special (best of the 'old school' FFs by far. Plus, Ryo Sakazaki as a hidden char? Beautiful...)

KoF 2003 (if you can get the cash for it, GET IT!)

Last Blade 1 and 2 (both have enough differences to warrant getting both)

Matrimelee (after finally having played it, it's the next on my want list)



Sell all your SamShos, get AoF2 cheap, and work towards one of the above games
