How much do you bench? (over a year old bump, how have you improved?)

I'm not asking how much you CAN bench, I'm asking how much you do bench. Working out on a regular basis, I mean. If you don't, or don't do it often, then please don't reply. I'm getting more into working out, and I'm trying to see a good comparison to those that do it regularly. Thanks. Also, how many reps and sets?

Again, not how much can you do once or twice. I'm talking serious working out, and not impress the ladies numbers (unless you're just a hulk that can bench 300 in 4 sets of 8)

I can bench about 135 pounds. I normally do 3 sets with the first two sets being 10 reps and the last being ~4 reps.

I usually do 180, 2x45 on each side of course. 3 sets, 10 reps.
When I'm feeling more energetic I'd put 3x45 on each side (270),
then on my 2nd set I'd change back to 180.

I start out with 140 or so for a warm up - and then up to about 230, and then back down to about 180.

I used to work out all the time, but now I just try to keep from getting weaker. It's hard to find time and/or a workout partner these days.

I carry 4 sheets of 1/2" (4' x 8') OSB at a time...

Try that.

And 40 oz curls now and then.

The bar is 45 pounds too, so it'd be 315 and 225 right? When I used to work out... I'd use 225 then bump it up a little to change the pace. Just about the same as you do. Thank god for short arms and a big chest! :D

what's OSB?

Oriented strandboard

Have you seen ply wood sheeting that looks like big chuks of wood glued together? That's what it is.

That stuff is heavy... that's got to be around 175 or more.

Fuck the muscle? LOL, what are you going to do if your gf challenges you to an arm wrestling match and you lose like that loser on that dating TV show on Spike. ;)

The most I can bench is 250 pounds, but I also try no to go past that, don't want to get to big. I try running atleast 5 times a week(3 miles).

Max is 405 lbs or 8 plates
as far as workout I warm up with 135 10 reps
225 10 reps
275 10 reps
and 315 at this point I'm tired so about 5-7 reps
thats flat bench , then I do decline about the same weight as above , then incline lighter not more than 225
every other chest work out I do dumbbells instead on bench.

That night, she could be on top... please... the muscle bound freak look went away for me in Highschool. I use to lift weights like crazy, losing mobility, looking like a freak, and not really being in good shape (since no one actually does any heart strengthening, just weight reps). That was a fad and I had no desire to look like that, be like that, or think like that.

Currently I can't swim, no pool around here I can use, but in a few months that will change... and I will go back to swimming an hour a day. You spend an hour in the pool and you will say good bye to weights forever :p There is nothing better then a lean and toned body.

I'm not saying looking like the Hulk or Arnold is the hip thing, you can obviously tell by how much I bench. IMO you have to be moderate. I run about 3 miles three times a week and I lift weights at least a couple of times. So you see, I'm neither one extreme or the other. :p
