Ok - just spotted this one on ebay. It's probably the closest one I'll find around here. Do you guys see any obvious problems with it?

I like it..I've looked at that pics in the auction a few times and the cab is nice in my eyes..
It's a nice conversion..

I never like when the game screen shots are taken from a website and don't show the actual games on screen..
IMO/Somethings I think they do that to hide burn in or a crappy monitor.
But if your picking it up you can see it in person..
(Or I'd just ask a lot of questions)

I like the cab in general and I'd buy it...The control panel layout is good and you can change the sticker overlay over and over if you like.(Even though It doesn't need to be changed)

I dunno man.... wait a bit and add a bit more money and get something you REALLY want. You shouldn't have to have people convince you to like a cab.

Nah I do like it alot - I'd prefer a 25" monitor but that's kind of a minor gripe. The reason the post title reads the way it does is because I really shouldn't be dropping 300 bucks or so and then spending the weekend travelling down to SC to pick it up. I guess it wouldn't kill me though :D.

Nice..

Although I'm a Candy man, myself, the sight of an American MVS cab does bring back fond memories...

If you like American cabs,I'd say,go for it.

I'd jump on it if I was searching for one. Definately one of the nicer looking conversions I've seen on ebay, especially for that price.

Don't do it!

A better one will come around eventually, a real big red no conversions.

Exactly my thoughts, specially for you Galfordo, you seem to
like the good things. Wait for a nice Original Big Red to appear
in your area. I waited about two years for a big red to appear
on ebay here on this side of the country, and when it did I
used BIN on it. GoodLuck.:buttrock:

Thanks, man. You're right I do like nice things :). Anyway, I think you guys have convinced me to hold out awhile longer. My bank acct. thanks you.

Oh well, the 19" monitor would've probably left me feeling inadequate anyway :).

I think its for the better also. It was a nice conversion but i don't like the button layout, prolly cuz i have big hands. Another thing i noticed wast the close proximity of the 1 and 2 player layout. You'd be constantly bumping your 2nd player and vice-versa. Better to hold-out for a nice MVS-4-25 and get both a 25 in monitor and better, roomier layout for 2 players.

Yeah, I think you're right. It's definitely a pretty nice conversion, but it's probably a bad idea to put all this cash and effort (4 hour drive + truck rental) into something that's almost what I want.

I'd say wait also. For about the same price, some friends of mine got a dedicated 2 slot at an auction. Patience can be well rewarded.

I agree with that statement. The cab is nice, but if you are on fence about it, wait until something you really want comes on by.

Yeah - I decided to hold off. I think it will turn out to be for the best.

Although I love my dedicated four slot, I really wish I just had a Candy Cab. That's like the all-in-one. Rotatable monitor. Neo-Geo + vertical shmup bliss... *drool* At the time it's exactly what I wanted. Now I'll probably just end up owning both once I get my hands on a Candy.

Point being--don't settle for what you don't want.

Hmm..Ended at $330.99 ..I think it's the second time that cab was listed ending the first time with no bids.

I don't think that's a bad price to pay due to it being a "two slot" and in pick up distance.
but,..I understand why you waited and that was a good call..
I thought the cab would end at a lesser price.

I paid a little below $400.00 for my Big Red (pick up)
And I didn't want to settle for anything else..

I wonder if the winning bidder (zero feedback) is within pick up distance ..for the ending cost and shipping is ..(((Freight Company. ESTIMATES: Palleting/Packing Fee: $40. PLUS Shipping: Should cost $150 - $350 depending on where you live.))

Whew, now that's a bit of money to spend on a conversion.

Good Luck..galfordo

How far are you willing to travel to get a cab..?
