Is Kenny Boy still here?

I have been reading about the recent negative press that Kenny Boy has been getting from a number of members here and I was curious to know if he was banned or not. I have had some good experiences with Kenny Boy and I am not 100% certain why he is getting the bad feedback right now. It seems that some common complaints have been that he may be responsible for jacking up prices and he has allegedly used another account to push his goods. I can't really comment on these two accusations since I don't know all the facts. I hope that someone can tell me what is going on here and if Kenny Boy has been banned or not. I hope that everything works out in the end.

He's still here. The only thing he did to piss off the mods was the whole 2 accounts deal.

Using 2 accounts (with the exception of retiring one and making a new one) is a banable offense. He will probably not be banned though because Shawn makes money by selling his modded systems through the Neostore. That is unfortunate, but true.

That makes sense beef, what sucks though are his high as hell prices. Oh well, I'm going MVS so I don't really give a crap when I think about it.

That's a crazy amount of money, given the amount of work involved for the mod.

Although it's really the buyers' fault if they pay prices like that, I'd be ashamed if I were to charge that much.

well Kenny boy quoted me that, when my neo needs EVERY mod
Tonk had the e-mail sent 2 him about every thing, like the restart button and crap like that

I find it very strange that he is getting bad press. I don't know what he is doing with the whole two account thing and I will be very disapointed if he turns out to be doing some scaming.

I will tell you my history with him and you can take it for what its worth. about a year or so ago I had Kenny mod my Neo, Saturn and DC. He did the mega mod thing to my Neo and it works great. It has svideo and stereo and even a composite output to go with the stereo. It also has two small exterior leds, one yellow and one red, the yellow shows that the power cord is plugged in and the red shows that the system is on. I love these leds because I am always changing around my setup and rewiring stuff so it makes testing it great. This was done very shortly before he started puting leds inside the systems, which I personally don't really like.

He also put a language switch on the back of my Saturn and a region mod chip in my DC. Overall, very good work, service and resonable price.

The real reason I wanted to add to the thread is because I explained to Kenny that I had held off for years on getting my Neo modded because I was afraid whoever I sent it to would keep it and not send it back. The reason for this is because I really lucked out when I bought my Neo. It was a used system but it might as well of been brand new. It was in pristine condition, not one scuff mark or scratch anywhere. Kenny told me how amazed he was at its condition, but of course he did the mods and sent it back just as I sent it to him. That, in my book makes him a great guy. I really hope he isn't scamming people.

i think its a couple of things

1/ extra account - i dont see the problem in this as even when you check through there isnt a problem with scamming etc

2/ pricing policy - he asks for huge bin's on ebay but his reserves are good, i have bought loads of things from kenny and they were all priced at a reasonable rate in fact i got them cheaper from him than from other members. Kenny doesnt run the way things are priced, if he asks for 300usd for art of fighting and somebody pays it - fool them, in fact others right now ask for offers on items and that in itself is gouging hopeing somebody will need it and offer way over teh odds

3/ photo's of manuals with conversions - this is the only problem i have as it give a false image of whats being sold, some people just look at the photo and bid

overall i like kenny, he is very reliable and trustworthy and its a shame this has happened to him, but when i was a very active spam..... erm poster he was getting it in the neck from certain members - could be jealousy i dont know

he is a decent member - one of the best guys here actually but hey most of the people here cant live without teh dr4m4

I think that you are a kool cat Kenny Boy. It is too bad that some MOD wrote that stuff under your avatar. I would take this up with Shawn if I were you. You do a lot of business with him afterall. I am sure that this will blow over soon.

For some reason I find this whole issue regarding services strangely ironic, since many of the same people who have their systems modded don't seem to have a problem paying hundreds of dollars for home carts.

If someone wants to pay that much for a service that's their business and not anyone else's. It's a simple law of supply and demand: if Kenny wasn't getting that much business he probably wouldn't charge that much.

Don't get me wrong, I agree that the price is a little high since Jeff Kurtz charges less. I'm not going to argue who does a better job of the two as thus far I've only purchased mods through Jeff. However, while Jeff is a great guy he's only one person and from what I hear he's busy enough as is.
