Neo Geo CD Emualtion

Is there anything on the Pc that emulates neo geo cd games.

Does the emualtor improve speed?
Any bugs?

Nebula, and I *think* Kawaks emulates the NeoCD. Not positive about Kawaks, but Nebula definitely does.

I havent noticed any bugs, but I only use it for a couple of games. Loading times are ok, if I remember correctly.

that way you can play your ORIGINAL, AUTHENTIC neo cd's on you computer with virtually no load time.

That brings up an interesting point. When you buy software, are you purchasing the right to play on any type of hardware, or just that hardware that the software was officially made for?

An emulator is not a ROM, and not all emulators run ROMs -- some run the actual, original software in its original form.

Like the Neogeo CD.

Unless you dump your own BIOS image (which is required for the NGCD EMUs), this is technically correct... but *most* emulators are nice and legal.

Reguardless, I WON'T play my Neo CD games on the Neo CD. The loading is unreasonable, and playing on my PC hooked through my projector simply provides a better experience.

How is it illegal when you own the goddamned hardware? What's more, why the hell would you own Neogeo CD games and not a Neogeo CD? Most people don't even know what a goddamn emulator is. I'm pretty sure kc already owns one (or intends to get one -- and if he doesn't, I will gut him) and just wants to play the game on his PC (and in the future, his DC).

It's not my fault the Neogeo CD can't run at any reasonable rate of speed whatsoever. Hop off my balls. Thanks, love you.

It doesnt matter what SNK intended, thier gone, and they don't give a crap about stuff like this. ask any one that is TRULY in the know about this type of thing and they will tell you that it is the BOOTLEGGING of arcade software that TRULY hurts companies.You and I both know that the neo cd is an unsuported system and that no one is hurt by using authentic neo cd's on a PC.

Think about it, what would SNK have done in the same situation as Plamore? They know their system has poor graphic capabillities, they know that the mainstream audience loves good graphics, they saw the success of the Guilty Gear series and finally realized what had to be done.

Put it this way, how will they make more money, by making a few hundered games on an obsolete 16-bit system, which very few have, or making games for a more powerful system, that can easily have games ported to the home systems which millions of people have?

I love the Neo, but don't blame Playmore for "killing" it, it
died over time, just like everything else, nothing lasts forever, so get over it.

Please go look at the screenshots of neowave. The graphics have not improved(only bg have). To tell you the truth you are right. Back in 96' tekken owned us all, so Snk made the hyper 64. Which failed, and remember that system wasnt up to standards, just like how AW isnt right now.

The hardware that they designed can't cut it if you want to REALLY get any enjoyment out of your game at all, since it takes a good 30 seconds to load a lot of stuff in the later games. What's more, the hardware is no longer being made, and most of has already left SNK's hands and has already made SNK/P whatever money they were supposed to get out of it.

I am going to argue this until you fucking listen to yourself, because -- shit -- how dare I play my Neogeo CD games on hardware that is blatantly superior and would thus make my game more enjoyable?! Are you out of your goddamned mind? If anything, NGCD emulation is making me buy the games, because now I can legitmately play a lot of games that are in my price range and -- lo and behold -- don't take ages to load, thanks to a few coders who decided to spend their time to allow me to play my NGCDs on my pretty VGA monitor (which I hear looks better than anything a TV will ever produce).

Because, shit man -- how dare I enjoy myself.

Remember that when this case was tried the PSX was still being manufactured, unlike the NGCD today.

Therefore emulation is legal and you do that the right to play your games on the PC. Atleast thats what the highest court in the US says and they write the laws that apply to me and any other gamer in the US.

I am totally wrong then. Now I didn't read the whole thing,
since it is very long, and I am not willing to spend my time
on it, but does this apply to all systems?

Going back to business, I really respect my hobby, I respect
SNK, I respect the neo itself, and of course the people behind
the making of this great company.

Maybe I am a blind motherfucker, but I am sorry I do not have
the time, nor do I want to download a measly Emulator, let's
not even talk about romz/warez. I have mostly every single game
there's for the neo, so no need for that. I do not have to play
on my pc (Nor do I want to)
when I have a couple of MVS machines here on my side
or a ton of homecart systems on my gaming room. I play the
games where they are supposed to be played, regardless of how
cute or 'amazing' they look.

I really dislike people who jack prices in the scene but sometimes
I think it is good, you know why?
because of this type of shit. People think they're entitled to do
anything they want. It's not like that. Respect the games,
respect their hardware, fuck, aren't you all here for the NEO?
or are you here to play KOF on your PC or on your PS2?
